A question about : Sliderobes

We're thinking of getting 'Sliderobes' for our bedroom because we need as much storage space as possible and we haven't been able to find full height 'off the shelf' wardrobes that will fit our ceiling height.

Can anyone give me an idea of how much Sliderobes cost. We'd need something that's about 2-3 metres long.

Do they have a sale at any particular time of the year or has anyone been able to get and use a discount code?

Perhaps there are other NI companies that make wardrobes to fit but would they be as good as Sliderobes? Grateful for any tips / advice.

  • Bump for this post rather than add one of my own - im in the same predicament and was wondering if anyone would recommend a company/joiner that do sliderobes at lower prices than Sliderobes themselves!
We want to put them in our bedroom, but across a chimney breast (and on either side)
    Thanks folks
  • Eventually we'd like to do the same thing in our spare bedroom i.e. span a wardrobe across a chimney breast. Could this be problematic? If anyone can recommend a good (and cheap) place to get wardrobes I'd be most grateful.
I see B&Q do sliding wardrobes but are they any good?
  • The OH and I were in Ikea looking and they have lovey ones in a dark wood, they arent sliderobes but storage is great.
Depends on whether you rate Ikea or not, its like marmite you either love it or hate it!
  • I've looked in Ikea but they only do two heights, one is around 2m and would mean that we'd lose almost a foot of storage space between the wardrobe and the ceiling and the next height is too tall.
  • The OH and I would like to replace very dark wood wardrobe doors in the bedroom with some sliding doors - would be just over 3 meters in length. I think there is a company based in Carryduff that does this but has anyone used them before (or any recommendations)?
    Thanks.
  • jenny-wren, When we moved into our House in 2002, we got Sliderobes in the back Bedroom, absolutely fantastic, we purchased these from Guys Home Interiors (Victor Guy) Tel:- 028 7776 7756 (Mobile No:- 07989 390970). They are 8ft Long (2 Mirror Doors) which go right up to ceiling, and were very reasonably priced around Ј450.00. Never had any bother with them, Victor covers the whole of Northern Ireland.
We actually got another Sliderobe in my Sons room, really brillant job, around the same size for Ј550.00, about year or so ago, hold a great deal of stuff, he can even pull the door open and watch his TV at Night, it actually up to yourself what shelf format you want.
I have no hesitation in recommending the above - 1st Class, and very speedy & Professional Service.
Trust that this is of help you.
    Regards: Martin
  • www.Komandor.ie follow the links through to the only NI dealer in Irvinestown phone them up and ask for Gerry ... NOT the cheapest but very modern & solidly put together
  • we got victor guy great service and fitted ours well we have a sloped ceiling can def recommend him
  • Hi folks, for info I work for Sliderobes Group and I'm new to money saving expert. Jenny-Wren, to answer your questions: we don't ever do sales, but sometimes do promotions; and if you give one of our showrooms a call one of the team will be able to give you an indication of the price. By the way, whilst others do sliding wardrobes, you can only get Sliderobes from one of our own stores. Hope this helps.
  • sliderobes product is a really high spec they use a german system which is built to last for yrs its the same system i have stated to use but far cheaper
  • We have a system from Crafted Interiors: https://www.craftedinteriors.co.uk/ and it looks nice and works well. The doors slide well on the rails and each door is divided into 3 sections: the top and bottom sections are dark wood and the middle section is opaque glass. I gave them one of the drawers from a chest of drawers in teh room and the were able to stain the wood on teh doors to match.
We did go and look at Sliderobes (and yes they are the only ones who do "Sliderobes" as such (tradename) but most people use it as a generic term for all fitted wardrobes with sliding doors). We though Sliderobes were way too expensive...mind you we didnt go during a sale..oops.. I mean promotion period....
  • Dad and I have jst finished installing sliding doors that we bought from B and Q and installed ourselves!
With double hanging and a set of shelves in the middle, the materials worked out at under Ј350. We had crafted interiors out to measure up but were quoted Ј1200 for a three door system made to measure. The doors from B&Q are 900mm wide, so there is about a 2cm overlap on the middle door but really pleased with how it worked out.
  • Anyone tried Gliderobes? They are based in the maiden city and have a unit on show in Lisnagelvin shopping centre with some leaflets and prices but no-one is ever there to get more info when i pass.Prices a lot cheaper than Sliderobes.
  • I have just had 3 rooms fitted with sliding wardrobes by gliderobes, very pleased with the work, fast installation, no messing about, good sturdy clean job, all 3 cost half of what some other companies where charging me for just one! They travel throughout n.ireland and parts of southern ireland. Was messed about by one of the companies mentioned here but i found gliderobes very professional and fitters where first class. They are based in the maiden city and have a wardrobe on display in Lisnagelvin shopping centre.
  • ............maybe, but I wouldn't buy sliderobes from anyone unless I visit the workplace. There's a hell of a lot of fitting involved with sliderobes
  • My mum has had 'sliderobes' but the B&Q ones, for at least 10 years now, they are not to my taste, but she loves them, and they are still as good as the day she installed them, so the quality is fab!
  • I got the dark wood sliderobes from Ikea last year, and employed a specialist guy to build them. He was superb and very cheap. Only cost Ј400 for the wardrobes and Ј50 for assembly!!!
  • I recently got a quote from a local carpenter for Ј930 to fit out my new bedroom with these (price did not include interiors). It was just too much so we went to Ikea and got something very similar for less than Ј300 including all interiors (pull out trouser hangers, rails etc). I'm thrilled with it and so pleased to have saved so much money. We didn't need doors thus the low price but they do sliding doors too of course. All items have a 10 year guarantee as well.
  • Seymore Dougan in Lisburn did an excellent job in our house for far less than Sliderobes would have wanted (less than half!).
