A question about : Sky Sports 5

Not strictly moneysaving ...but has anyone else noticed that Sky are STILL showing the activate SS5 message on the other sports channels ,even tho' everyone with the Sports pack has been able to watch it without taking any action since launch? Are they hoping that people are that stupid??

• "Activating" the channel does nothing other than bring up a screen advertising Sky's "free broadband" offer. As you say, the channel has been available to all Sky Sports subscribers since launch and will continue to be.
  "Activation" makes absolutely no difference.
• Pressing the backup button solves the problem. Simples!
• Was still available for me this am -and I haven't activated it.
• ...I'm without all the Sports channels now ...my cancellation took effect last night....now to wait for the phone calls.....
  EDIT -MYSKY shows 50% off -was only showing 35% off before!
• we'd received another letter a couple of weeks ago reminding us to activate, but when i went online i'm sure it said in the small print that this started another 12 month minimum term? as i'm planning on cancelling soon, thought best not to go ahead!
• Done a deal with Sky so its back on - the Sky + box updated yesterday -but I've still got SS5! Wonder if the switch off is only occurring on HD boxes???
  Further thought -someone said earlier in the thread that SS5 was shown seperately on their bill - not on mine tho'??
• I'm not bothered to be honest -don't think I've watched anything on SS5 - all I've done is flick over to it, to see if the message is still there! If it vanishes and there is anything I'd like to watch then I might consider phoning!!
  Somebody said that SS4 was shown on their bill as a bonus to Sports Pack as well - I've looked back thru all the bills I've had -and its never been shown seperately!!
• I've got the main 4 sky sport channels.
  Originally sky sports 5 worked on the telly but now doesn't.
  But on skyplayer on the computer s sports 5 still works.
