A question about : Sky Referral Thread
I know Sky + is free when you recommend a friend to join Sky, but I wanted Sky + and all my friends had Sky already.
I've seen Sky + advertised at Ј99 plus Ј60 for installation for existing sky customers, but I thought I was being ripped off so here's what I did:
- rang Sky's cancellation dept
- said I wanted Sky + but if it was Ј159 I would cancel and go for NTL's version instead
So they offered me the Sky+ box for Ј49 with free installation.
I took the deal - maybe I could have got it for free but I wasnt really in the mood for hard negotiating.
Anyway just thought that might help.

- is sky cheaper than the ntl version? i have ntl now(family package) and internat from them is £10 extra.
is sky better ,cheaper per month for a similar package??(i want sky one and living tv and hallmark) - its like a 20 hour tape in it, but better

- i tried it withsky and they were having none of it. They said they didn't have any offers on sky at the moment.
Anyone just got Sky and interested in taking part in the refer a friend scheme. Willing to make it worth your while. - I called Sky this morning threatening to cancel and was offered Sky+ for £49 and no extra charges. At first I thought he was going to accept my cancellation but the advisor just offered me the deal with little persuasion on my part. Little did he know I had my credit card ready!
Thanks for all the tips on this website as I probably would have just ordered Sky+ without negotiating. - sorry to be a bit dim but did those of you who got the £49.00 deal have to take multiroom? I have been offered the £49.00 deal but only if I subscribe to multiroom for £10.00 per month. I don't need multiroom as there are only the 2 of us so I need to decide what to do.

half price HD or free Sky+
Sky+ IMHO is really good but if u have HDTV, u will want to get HD, its phonominal - hello all, just called back Sky to see if I could improve on the earlier offer of Ј49.00 installed for Sky+ (and Ј10.00 multiroom) as I do not really need multiroom. Anyway the guy said what offer? We aren't doing that offer! I said yes you are as I was offered two hours ago. Anyway he accussed me of lying I asked to speak to a supervisor, he cut me off !! I was raging. I rang again and got India! I explained, he was sympathetic but could not help. I asked to go through to cancellations and explained what had happened and they were lovely and have now agreed to install for free and provide the box for Ј49.00 and no multiroom required. Excellent!
- I was all prepared to have to accept Multiroom for Ј10 per month when I accepted the Ј49 charge for Sky+ but the advisor didn't even mention it so I didn't either. He confirmed I would only be paying a one off payment of Ј49. He did say it was a one time offer and not to mention it to anyone else!
- if they try and get you on multiroom, just tell them you only have 1 tv in the house, they will accept
