A question about : Sky

Hi there, this is my second thread, its an issue which I could do with a little advice. basically to cut a long story short, decided to take out sky plus. Bought the box and installation for the price they were offering and signed papers for a years contract.

There was a complete muckup from the start with Sky taking money out of my account when the salesman informed me they would contact me to run through the installation dates and thats when they would authorise the payment, then they were going to install the braodband and phone line but was given false information regarding installation/requirements for the service, so decided to cancel as was within 28 days, told would need to write letter. Wrote letter and sent letter, cancelled direct debit as disconnected tv and cancelled phone/broadband installation, have received numerous letters, none acknowledging receipt of my cancellation letter.

Account has been passed to debt collectors for one months fees, dont want to call sky as its a waste of time talking to them as they dont know if they are coming going or just been, debt collectors very helpful and informed me once i pay the outstanding balance then the account will be closed.

Have heard many people have had probs with sky, if i pay this amount then it settles the account does it mean thats it with sky? Me paying the Ј75 for box and installation up front, does it mean its now mine to do what i want with it or could sky request it back??

Thanks

Best answers:

  • If you pay the months payments, assuming you havent had their service since then you should be free from them.
The box if you have paid for it, is yours to do as you please - sell on ebay for the months fees or keep should you dare to go back in the future.
