A question about : Site fast connection

Is anyone else experiencing unusually long times in connecting from the main page to the threads? It takes ages.

• Hi folks,
  We're doing some upgrades and modifications in the background this weekend so there may be the odd disruption and periods of slowness. Hopefully they won't be so noticeable and in the end, we also hope to gain a little more speed out of the system.

• Hi Webbie - you may/may not want to know all sorts of weird stuff has been happening on the boards this afternoon and they are still really slow.
• I thought I made a couple of posts but they don't seem to be appearing, IE is really playing tricks on my eyes - must be a glitch so I switched over to firefox and it's a lot faster and reliable though unfortunately not my favorite so looking to switching back to IE - thanks for the update.
• I having problems with slowness and pages not loading at all.
• Yeah I get an error message fairly frequently today - my tip is to copy any post you type, so if you lose it you can start again and just paste it in.
  Just had to do that right now for THIS post... :rolleyes:
• Wow Quasar, those rosettes are seriously impressive! First time I've seen anyone with them.
• I keep getting a socket error page saying no buffer available.

  We're still working on the system and we're aware of the errors you're receiving. We didn't want to close the Forums today and I'm afraid this is one of the drawbacks of posting while we work in the background.
  Please note: we may still have to close the Forums at some point this evening but we'll try and avoid that if we can.

• Thank you for the update Webby, but at just after Midnight, I've still got these problems...
• Just lost the site for a few minutes and started to panic! So glad to see that it's due to work being done in the background and not a hijack by the banks after tonight's discussion about ING
• I'm afraid we're still going here so there might be a few more delays before the night is through but we'll try and keep it to a minimum.
