A question about : Selling on Ebay

Hi guys hope your all well

I have been selling on ebay since November just odds and ends, managed to get my feedback up to 32 plus 100% positive.

I see it as a challenge turning a small profit selling unwanted gifts or stuff I have that don't require anymore.

The problem I am facing now is I'm running out of items to sell.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that has faced the same problem,I've read go to car booty's etc

any other ideas?

Best answers:

  • Fees (10%, never mind Paypal) are too high now surely? I loathe selling on eBay now.
  • When you start buying products to sell you are no longer selling as a hobby to get rid of unwanted stuff, you are a business.
  • Where would you sell spock007?
    tattycath that's a given
  • Thank you
I would like to start buying products to sell on ebay I don't mind paying the fees and tax of coarse.
I do work full time at the moment so I would need to check in with the tax man and see what's required from myself
  • There is a dedicated Ebay forum as well - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...splay.php?f=40
  • Hi guys

The problem is I don't know were to start ie with hmrc
How do I make sure I'm no fiddling the tax man?
  • Thanks very much
  • I've moved and merged the two threads to keep all the responses in the same place for the OP.
  • If you're selling vintage stuff etsy is a option, there's also selling pages for each area on Facebook also if you do find stuff with real interest that's saught after Gumtree too. Really it's all about knowing what people want and what's 'in' at the moment.
