Possible steer?

A question about : Possible steer?

Hi all,

A little background before I start. I have just returned from travelling. No house and living with my gf's brother.

My current savings are as follows:

Ј22k in Santander 123 Acc (will be moving 2k of it to TSB once I get down there to open account)

Ј17k in Fixed ISA due for release in a few months

Ј16k in HL in a random set of S&S which I didn't really know a huge amount about trading when I bought.

NS&I Index Linked Savings Certificates

A question about : NS&I Index Linked Savings Certificates

Hi. Back in 2009, I put money into a 3 year certificate issue. When it matured, I kept it on for another 3 years due to the index linking despite the low interest rate. It's due to mature again but the interest rate on offer is minimal. The RPI for January stands at just 1.1% due, in part, to the fall in oil prices. The 3 year Pensioner bonds at 3.2% net look inviting but the RPI is bound to rise. I'd appreciate any advice, please.

confused about share price of initial offering

A question about : confused about share price of initial offering

Hi,

This is my first attempt at buying shares (in a fund) and am a bit confused, it was an initial offering, I spent UKP500 and received my certificate

However, the price to certificate is 50p and the quantity is 250.

So if it is only worth UKP125, where has the rest of my money gone!

Just want to check my understanding before calling them!

The FAQ that comes with it says the price printing on it doesn't reflect the current price, but it was an initial issue

Cash Account under Pension Wrapper

A question about : Cash Account under Pension Wrapper

My DH has recently left his permanent employment and started his own business through limited company. To save for retirement and also on corporation tax, he is planning to start an employer pension through his limited company. For year 2014-15, he wants to put Ј16000 into the pension pot. After a bit of research, we are planning to open a Pension account with BestInvest in his company's name.
