A question about : Santander 2year fixed isa @ 4%

As title says Santander have excellent offer

Before the Santander haters start I have been with them for a number of years as have my husband, mother and son and never had a problem - my local branches ( I use 3 different ones) are all great

Believe 1 year is 3.5 and instant access is 3.3

I am existing isa customer and can transfer mine to these offers according to my frends daughter who is employed by them so anyone can have

Best answers:

  • I've just fixed with Lloyds TSB at 3.7% for 2 years on Thursday, awaiting a transfer across. Doubt I'll be in a rush to change that for what amounts to an extra 0.3% Especially as I can add to it at that rate throughout the 2 year period if I so wish.
  • Interesting. I am with Halifax @ 3.0 currently so would certainly transfer in if transfer in's are allowed?
    This isn't being advertised yet?

  • The Llyods tsb fixed 2 year you have to over 10k to get 3.7%

  • where is this 4% offer i cant see it on their website
  • Friends daughter works at local branch and has given me all info including leaflet - it is available in branch from Monday
Leaflet does say you can add to isa each year between 6th and 14th April so can top it up
Also says can do transfers from existing and non existing isas
  • sweet this is sounding good, me want!
  • Yes your right pays to read full terms

Access to funds, but any withdrawal within the 24 month fixed period will mean you'll pay a withdrawal charge the equivalent of 160 days tax free interest on the amount withdrawn. You may therefore get back less than you originally deposited.

  • Not sure about the Lloyds 2 year isa. If you put in less than 10K initially, your rate is 3.4% fixed. If then after April 6th you put in the new year's allowance, isn't your rate still fixed at the original 3.4%? Where does it say it goes up to 3.7%
  • No it goes up, checked that out when I opened the account.
  • Theres an additional 0.10% bonus at the end if a certain golfer wins a major tournament hence why it's called the major isa.
