A question about : SA repayments

How long do you normally have to wait for them

I done a TR on the 7th, on hmrc webste it says bank repayment pending....

Best answers:

  • 2 weeks usually at this time of year.
  • I did mine on Monday and the repayment status changed from "pending" to paid today. But my return was very simple.
my question is - do HMRC use faster payments when paying out? if so, I should have the money by now but I don't.
  • I did one on Saturday 6th although the date online is showing 8th and it still says repayment pending.
Last year it took 6 days from submitting to payment being in the bank.
The money went in the same day it changed from pending to issues.
Hmrc have said there are 5 days of security basic checks before payment as a minimum. Some can be longer due to security failings or extra random checks.
    Will update further
  • I did sa on 6th yesterday repayment was pending today repayment issued I assume its bacs payment ad will take 1-3 days.
Last year was in bank next day but next day was a working day.
  • Still pending
  • Unlucky. I got mine overnight So that's some of the winter's gas/elec bill covered
  • filed my husbands on 6th around 5pm have been checking since wednesday and still saying bank repayment pending, hmrc online says last updated 12/04. What does bank repayment pending mean? I have found sites saying it means security checks and others saying it means its on its way to my bank but not cleared yet. last year i filed on the 13th april and funds was cleared in account on 18th april. Any ideas? or help?
  • I did it at 6am 6th mine went to pending Thursday issued Friday and in bank today I don't think hmrc updates on a Saturday so I bet Monday yours will change to issued.
The process needs 5 working days to issue apparently.
If yours is a high value it may take longer.
  • As soon as it says issued that's when the money is released to your bank
  • Thank you, It was for Ј1,200 it was less than last years which was Ј1,500 and that took 5 days in total from 13th to 18th. This is for cis repayments this year tho as last year was both paye & a small amount of cis dont know if that makes a difference
  • I've just logged on to my account and it says repayment 15 april , i have just checked my bank and its not in yet but maybe it will go in overnight , i will be very happy if it is i only did it on wednesday and last year i waited 6 weeks for repayment .
  • mine is saying imformation as of 12th april so my site hasnt been updated since friday but still saying pending grrrrr
anyone had theirs change to issued??
  • i filled my return on the 6th and still my repayment is pending. Last year it took 5 days for repayment to be issued. Spoke to HMRC over phone and advised can take 7 to 10 days to issue
  • I too also seem to have hitched a ride on the wretched snail that is the HMRC's repayment system.
I filed my Self-Assessment on the 7th of April, it was processed within a matter of days and has been at the "Bank Repayment Pending" status for well over five days without any date listed for repayment.
Last years repayment was a swift 3-4 days in total so you can imagine my unease that it's taking more than twice as long as last year, the year before that, and so on...
Keep us all updated when your status changes to issued or maybe even on that fateful day when the money is actually in your account, people.
  • Anyone else had any updates? Still saying, "Bank Repayment Pending" for me... so irritating.
  • Still the same for me im afraid, there is another thread and seems there is quite a few of us
