A question about : ryanair's big fat compensation payout
stuck abroad for 9 extra days with my daughter. Ryanair sent me a big fat cheque last week for Ј159....no explanation or breakdown, no accommodation paid as the receipts were not VAT registered. I have no intentions of cashing in the cheque until someone can give me guidance on what do do next. Ryanair have all my original receipts so cannot claim from my own insurers1 Can anyone out there help me?
Best answers:
- We did not have VAT receipts when stuck in Spain. Rented accom. Initial response was a to say would not give us a refund, for anything other than VAT receipted items. Faxed them from computer threatening to take them to court. Two weeks later they replied saying that they had had a re-think and would pay us 60 per night 2 adults 1 child. I did point out to them that we had saved them money by not staying in a hotel, plus what O'leary had said and he didn't give a damn
- I use the computer to do the faxing
