A question about : Ryanair Twitter comp = total joke!?

No this sounds like total sour grapes but it really isn't - I'm just fed up with Twitter comps asking for X Y Z then they 'randomly selecting' bloggers to win!!
Now please tell me if you read this differently to me but on Ryanairs recent Valentine Twitter comp it states;
For the purposes of this Competition, entrants must tweet a photo of themselves together with their Valentine displaying a message outlining (1) their preferred destination, (2) the reason why they should win and (3) the hashtag
Yet NONE, not one of their 10 winners is holding any kind of message (which is also shown in there advertising material)
Am I being unreasonable?
Feel free to correct me if you think I am wrong title=Thanks,

Best answers:

  • From the blurb (not the T&Cs)
    Quote:
  • IMO any message held by the person in the picture would be too small to read. I definitely interpret it as a normal picture and the tweet containing the where/why/hashtag
    ETA - if there are messages in the pictures on their promo material then, yes, I agree that they have either picked wrongly, or realised that their request had been interpreted wrongly by almost everyone and that the phrasing of it was a grey area that they couldn't enforce.
  • Well I also agree the judging of this Competition was a total joke...and sums up everything about the airline.
    Fair play, there were some good winning entries, and many of the winners were Compers.
    I have two issues:
    A) One of the winning entries didn't even meet the criteria....unless their other half in the picture was a 6 month old baby.
    B)Compare these 2 entries:
    One of two men pictured possibly on their wedding day with slogan "take us for a much needed and well earned break to Rome"
    Another of man & woman with pic taken at Trevi Fountain with slogan "Rome visit would be grand,Last trip not as planned,No snowfall in 26 yrs,Colosseum shut:reduced to tears"
    Can you guess which one won?
