A question about : Ruined jewellery repair
Hello,
I do hope that you can advise me.....
I have just had a gold and diamond bracelet returned ,after 1 year, by my jeweller and it is ruined!
I have used the services of the jeweller for over 10 years. He has repaired and made bespoke pieces for me in the past and they have been excellent.
The gold and diamond bracelet was uncomfortable to wear, so we agreed on a repair.
However, after receiving my bracelet,, he became very ill....... Hence, the job taking 1 year !!
On return, I find the piece unrecognisable, ruined , bad workmanship, not at all up to his usual standard....
I have accidental damage on my jewellery which covers the amount.
Can I claim ?
I know and respect the jeweller, I do not want to take him to court.... But my bracelet, insured for Ј850, is unwearable.......
Can any one advise please ?
Best answers:
- Perhaps you should discuss it with him. If he was ill, maybe someone else carried out much of his work?
