A question about : Return Tickets

I need to travel to the NEC in just over a months time. I have only just found out that the person that was going to drive me can't so I will have to go on the train, and by this point I have missed all the best advance single ticket prices (I did have a look at the 12 week mark but at that point didn't think I needed them!) - so, after having a good look, I think the best price is going to be an Off Peak Return (travelling on a Sunday)

Do the prices of the Return tickets such as the Off Peak Return go up as it gets closer to the time as the singles do, or will they stay the same? Trying to work out whether I can leave it a couple of weeks or whether I need to do it asap!

Thanks title=Smile

Best answers:

  • Off Peak Single or Return fares do not go up in price, with the exception of the usual annual fare rises (and, in some cases, at other times, for example to 'fix' anomalies).
An Off Peak Return for travel in March will be the same price, irrespective of whether it is bought now, or on the day of travel.
  • Thank you I had a feeling that was the case and it was just the advance tickets that rise, but I wanted to check now, rather than leave it and then discover later that I was wrong!
