Please can anyone tell me how to find out my account details for barclays as I know it was a long time ago when I used to have the additions account, i am still a barclays account holder , has anyone else tried to claim there additions fees bk! Many thanks for any advice given,

• see if you can find any old statements or maybe ring barclays bank to find out the information, i have previously read some people have claimed for their additions fee and they have been successful. are you trying to claim back the money you had paid for the additions account?
• I saw on Facebook that i could have possibly been mis sold my premier account and if ruled in my favor would be able to reclaim all my monthly charges. I used the template letter from this site and sent it via Barclays complaint department yesterday, i then recieved a phone call this morning from a nice lady from the complaints department who told me that after investigating, it turns out i had been unknowingly paying these charges since 2001. She then preceeded to tell me that they had ruled in my favor and were going to credit my account with all of the reclaimed charges plus the 8% interest AND an additional Ј50 as an apology. That phone call was just over an hour ago now and the money is already in. In total i recieved just under Ј3500. I no longer pay for my account or have any of the perks i never really used so a good result all round. Thanks to this site for being so informative and looking after the publics best interest.

  Well done for your successful claim. Would you mind telling which template letter you used please? I had an additions account from 2001 till 2010 and paid account fees and overdraft protection every month, but am unable to locate my terms and conditions so would like to take the same route as yourself?

• My husband has a Barclays additions account and has had this since university and has been paying an account fee of Ј6.50 per month and I questioned him a few months ago to what the fee was for. Unfortunatly he does not have his statements to when the first payment was made, do you think this would be a problem with the bank if we were to use the template and has anyone had any success with Barclays for this account fee. If you have any information that would be grateful.

  I took out Barclays additions active account in 2009 at Ј15 per month.I was happy until I tried to use it and it was rubbish.My partner dropped her mobile phone down the toilet and it broke so I made a claim.My insurance covered mobile phones travel ins will writing ext warranty ect.That day when I phoned Barclays they told me it would take 3-4 weeks to fix the phone (which I did not expect at all)and was very unhappy about.I sent the phone off to them and received back in 4 weeks.Shortly after my partner realised the wifi no longer worked and took it to a shop in town to ask as she didn't want to wait another 4 weeks.The shop inspected the phone and charged Ј20.They told her it was the worst repair they had ever seen and that who ever repaired it didn't wear special gloves which were needed when taking a iPhone to bits and this was why it didn't work.The phone was over Ј400 to buy and wasn't very old.When she got back I phone Barclays to be told the phone repairs people were separate and not a Barclays company and that nothing they can do as the phone had been opened by someone else.Basically they didn't give a s**t bearing in mind I have been a customer since I was a young kid.I cancelled the insurance I told them how bad a service it was.My partner had to buy another phone Ј400 out of her own money and we basically paid 15Ј pm for nothing.I told them I felt like they had ripped me off.
  Could I claim back my fees I paid plus damages under the mid sold additions claims that how's now come about.
  Would be great full of some advice on how to do so and if I would be worth doing

  I think I may have a case for reclaiming these fees. I was advised that I could not have an overdraft unless I took out one of these accounts. Does anybody know the address of the complaints department of Barclays? Thanks

  I have put a complaint in too as I was told I needed an additions account to obtain an overdraft. At the time I had two accounts and they put the additions on both, paying Ј10 rising over the years to Ј15 on one and Ј10 reducing over the years to Ј6.50 on the other (became a first reserve).
  I paid both from 2000 to 2014 when in passing a staff member said why am I paying for the same benefits twice. I explained that it was for an overdraft and they said you don't need two and made one a basic account.
  They must have seen me coming as they applied PPI on loans and overdraft protection on both my additions accounts, without my knowledge (which I have successfully claimed back).
  I will keep this thread posted on the response I get.

  First post on this site but wanted to thank people as I noticed people were trying to reclaim their additions fees. I too had an additions account from 2009 to 2013. I emailed Barclays through their complaint site explaining I had never been given another bank account as an option which I felt was unfair and therefore the additions account was miss sold to me and within 3-4 weeks I have been told me claim was successful and I am going to be refunded the charges.

• They've paid me back the account fee, from 2009 to middle of 2013 plus interest. Just under Ј1000.
• Barclays just refunded me from my Additions account fee. They agreed it was mis-sold as they should've offered me a free account as none of the benefits were any good to me.
  I complained last Monday and they called me Saturday to confirm my complaint was upheld. They also credited my with my fees, Ј1900, interest at Ј840 and Ј50 for my inconvenience. The money is in my account already.
  Barclays were wrong to sell me account I did not need but their complaints procedure is fantastically speedy. The lady that dealt with me was lovely.

• Partial result!
  Barclays fully refunded my account from 2006-2012, but only paid out on my other account from 2000-2007 as I used RAC. My argument was it convenient to attach it to the longer running account especially as two additions accounts were running at the same time.
  Oh well at least I have had Ј1800 refunded, and they still said I could take it to the FOS.
• I have premier barclays account taken 11 years ago. I was told I needed it when I took a mortgage with them. I have never used any benefits it. I want to claim back charges but are concerned they will withdraw my overdraft. Has anyone experienced this. Or have barclays just restructured account to one with no fees and transferred overdraft.
