A question about : A real work at home job part 2

I have found a job on monster.co.uk
it's tech support for teletech ,
it's a genuine job that homeworkers
can do min of 20hrs a week

https://www.hirepoint.com/athome

Can I request those that are successful in gaining
employment with Teletech, do not disclose information
on Teletechs clients or disclose any information that would
be classed as confidential or sensitive.

This opportunity was originally posted in Aug 2007
so my apologies if there are no current vacancies.

  • This is a continuation of the previous thread.
At 3000 posts it was getting a little long!
  • I have one last question (i think lol) regarding pay.
considering this job is a 'proper' employed job, and everything that goes with it. can someone who works for them already, give me some idea of what pay you end up with, say after deductions and such. im trying to work out what kinda deductions such as tax etc would impact on that. any help would be appreciated. please pm me also if necesary, if not wanting to post in here.
im not very knowledgeable in this area, so any advice welcome.
  • If this was your only income and you just did the minimum 20 hours at £6 an hour it would come to £6,240 over the year.
    Personal Allowance is now £6,035, so £6,240 - £6,035 = £205
£205 taxable at 20% = £41 over this tax year
    NI £120 a week - £105 primary threashold = £15 chargable for NI
    £15 x 11% = £1.65 a week x 52 - £85.80 over this tax year
    Gross Pay £6,240 - £41 - £85.8 = £6,133.2 over the year
    £509.43 a month
So basically £520 gross a month and £510 after deductions if this is all you earn and only do the minimum.
  • thanks for the explenation, i need to sit and read over that a few times to take it in!
    thanks
  • ok i read on the official website, that this years personal allowance was Ј5435. where did you get Ј6035 ?
  • They have increased the personal allowance here
I think it was because people weren't happy about loosing the 10% tax band
  • Changes in Sept technically I think but will be back dated for everyone
    here
  • Can anyone tell me how long i should wait to hear from them after doing all the assessments? I contacted the live help and they said i passed the computer tests and the skills tests but couldnt tell me anymore, they said they would email my recruiter, I have emailed her 3 times at each stage telling her when i had completed something, she asked me to as i had had problems recieving the first computer test, she hasnt replied to one email..:rolleyes:and i havent heard from the company again yet. I completed the skills last Friday and also completed the workbooth CD last Weds. I had an interview which went well, so i dont know, does it normally take this long to hear from them? I am looking for work and this sounds great but i dont want to not apply for other jobs, or hang on in the hope i get this for it to take weeks..
  • Sometimes it takes a few days, they are currently preparing a new set of "nesters" to go live on calls and that can lead to a slight delay in responding to emails etc. It doesn't normally take longer than a week to get a reply but by all means email your recruiter tomorrow or friday to see what is happening.
  • Ok i think i have one last question (honest) lol.
    I thought tax was at 22% not 20% ?
  • ok thanks again. i think thats all my questions asked
  • Hey all,
Quick question, can you do more than 20hours? as really wanting to be doing full time 30+ got an e-mail saying i've got my telephone meeting at 7pm tonight, what do they ask? and wanted to know if you could do more otherwise pointless me going for it?
    Thanks
  • You do a minimum of 20 hours but there are sometimes slots open for people doing more hours. The first call is more about seeing how you are on the phone and how you interface with people and to see what sort of experience you have.
  • So if i ask tonight then i might be able to get more hours? Are these not going to be permanent hours though? Really like the idea of it you see.
What happens after tonight, as did my online test last night and got this tonight?
I work full time already you see so would want this job to replace it...! x
  • It will depend on the needs of the client, if they need agents covering more hours then you can ask if there is availability to be signed to more than 20 hours, if there is availability you will then get those hours permanently. If there is no availability and they only want 20 hours a week then you have to hit and hope basically.
  • Is it worth asking them tonight? or wait and see if they offer me it and then see? Has anyone transferred from their full time job to it?
    Thanks
  • Hi guys! just had a call from my recruiter offering me a job, yeeha!! she felt I would be suited to the tech side but because of my sales experience I am hoping to get the inbound sales position. sooo glad to be joining the team soon.x thanks for the support along the way, hope nesting is going well.x
