A question about : Putting Stuff in Storage

We are about to take on a "project" house (a.k.a. a dump with potential) and will need to put most of our furniture and other stuff into storage while we tear up floors and knock down walls.

Any suggestions for cheap options? Any experience of the self-store companies?

• It depends where you are. My mate runs a removal/storage company in oxfordshire which costs around Ј25 per week for a 20 foot container which is quite resonable in my opinion. He said that if he were to set up a similar site to the one he has now but closer to london his prices would probably increase due to the extra cost of land rental there.
• Not being funny here, but the cheapest way is to ask a local old person with a big garage (and no car - they don't drive anymore!) and offer them a whopping fiver a month, then up it to a tenner.
  They'll think it's xmas.
