A question about : Problems with fixed rate savings accounts? Sunday Times request
The Sunday Times is looking for someone who feels they were not informed adequately that their fixed rate was coming to an end, or are having trouble transferring the money to another account - perhaps because the provider will only issue a cheque, which could take time to send out and cash.
If this has happened to you and you like to help out, please send me a private message with your name, telephone no. and a sentence on what happened
Thanks

- Surely this would be more beneficial in the Savings board.....?
- Reporting the current savings interest rate you are on would be a helpful feature on savings accounts. It would be nice to see a history of the interest rates, as they applied to an individuals account. A monthly balance of interest accrued but not paid would be a helpful for those who get annual interest.
Many savings rates have a bonus feature or penalty clause that only kicks in after the terms and conditions have been undertaken to the satisfaction of the savings institution, or not. I could be getting 5% or nothing if I mess up on a regular saver.
Fixed rates and fixed terms come to an end. It is always a good idea to peer ahead to consider what you are getting now and compare it with what you could be getting if you could be bothered to research your own savings.
