A question about : Primus Broadband!!! New !!!

just received a call from primus (cheapest CPS provider the now) with regards to their recent launch of broadband. Wasnt actually aware that this was available so shocked when i received the call to say the least!!!

Im currently on the Primus Saver opt 2 which gives me free evening and weekend calls(to local and nat numbers) and 2 p per min during the day. The broadband deal that i was quoted was for 1MB on this same call plan it was only Ј14.99 a month. I was told that this was uncapped unlike other providers. This was for a 12 month contract, if i was interested in taking it for 18 month it was Ј13.99 a month. To good to be true??? I like most others was waying up the CPW offer amung others but this deal sounded perfect..

I also asked the question regarding 2 MB and was quoted Ј16.99 for 12 month and for 18 month Ј15.99.

If there broadband packages are as good as their phone service i will be happily changing over from Wanawho???

Heres some bullet points taken over the call.

Both 1MB and 2MB High speed broadband.

· FREE connection (worth Ј50)

· FREE modem (worth Ј29.99)

· FREE techincal support (0800 number)

· Activation within 7 working days

· Generous discounts when taking broadband with any Primus call plan.

· Unlimited monthly usage.

Hope this is of help to you guys!!! any questions you can contact them on 0800 036 0094.

Best answers:

  • Never heard of em nor has the ADSL Guide.
  • as the OP said
"just received a call from primus (cheapest CPS provider the now) with regards to their recent launch of broadband"
this suggests that they have just launched, possibly within the last few days
  • "Adsl guide would of at least gave them a mention, I think they
are an Aussie outfit as thats what google chucks up."
The guy who phoned was scottish so they must have a UK branch!!
Thats their home page - doesnt yet have details of their BB packages.
This website im sure will be updated with this as and when they get confirmation of the prices!!!
    hope that helps
  • Its really getting quite exciting the offers that are appearing now, especially as I am in a position to change bb and CPS.
I have sent the link to the Team to see if they can find out any more information
  • Ask them are they a reseller (e.g. Tesco isnt on the ASDL guide either).
  • I just found their details again.

  • Yesterday's Sunday Times Money section headline read "Cost of Broadband Internet Set to Plummet".
It said a broadband price war is about to break out. It advised people of being shy of signing up to longterm deals though (there are *penalties* for early exit on some deals!).
The best article I could find on the price war is this one from This Is Money
I think Martin should be keeping a close watch on this topic!
  • It would be very nice to see some kind of price war break out but hopefully
not at the expense of poor customer service.
  • Martin is keeping an eye on the recent offers of bb from TalkTalk/CFW and of course anything that comes out subsequently.
Primus is already well known to users of MSE as it is flagged by Martin in his home phones article as the cheapest CPS at the moment.
  • If anyone else gets a call, can you ask them to email you the details, so we know exactly what they are offering.
