A question about : preparing for job interview- good/bad questions?
will be a 'permanent' office role, on the phone.. initial training tbc, quite a large company..
Here are some things I plan to ask.. have I missed anything?
likely type of calls being handled - in or outgoing, soft care, hard script?
(any targets? solo, or team based?)
helping with / referring complaints? technical issues? cross selling anything?
Progress reviews / further product training?
Things I am not sure on-
can I see where I may be working? listen in to a call?
other benefits (any pension arrangement will be important, as I will need to make some plans..)
holidays? I have a family event, in a couple of months- would that be best left, until they make any offer..?
likely start date? salary?
Best answers:
- Can you make test calls so you get a feel of what the role is? Also shows you took interest?
"helping with / referring complaints? technical issues? cross selling anything?"
I didnt really understand what you meant by this, but would be wary of asking a question in a way which might suggest you lack confidence in these areas - Any scope for further teaining to move up the ranks, how and when are reviews conducted, uniform policy
I'd leave the family event untill offer has been made. - the help / refer query was bout how far they would expect (or let) someone take a call, before needing to refer it elsewhere- a manager, or other department..
- Two big no no's, Don't mention salary or holiday booked until offered the job. Puts you in a better position to negotiate.
- Yes never mention salary hours or work or benefits
I ask how the job has become vacant
What makes it a good company to work for
to name just 2 - many thanks. most q's explained up front, anyway! hope to hear some time later this month..
