Potty training

A question about : Potty training

My son has been potty trained for almost a month now. However over the last week he has had lots of accidents - all dirty ones at least once a day. I've found it frustrating because he had it and now I feel we've taken 5 steps backwards. He knows what he's supposed to do when I ask What do you do if you need a wee/poo? He'll say Go on the toilet and he asks when he need a wee.
He is 3 at the end of August and attends nursery full time. Nursery say that it always when he is outside playing and he just says it is an accident but the girls in nursery say that they'll ask him if he need to go and he'll say no but then literally 2 minutes later he'll do it.
I've tried rewards like If you use the potty today then we'll go and see grandad after nursery he'll get really excited about that and say how he will go to the toilet and then we have another accident.

Has anyone had a similar problem? Does anyone have any suggestions?

• Maybe go to the doctors as it could be an infection?
• Completely normal. Stop stressing about it. DD has been potty trained for almost a year and still goes through periods where she has a few accidents. It's completely standard.
• Wonder if I can ask a question to mums of boys. I have been trying to potty train my 2.8yr son for just 7 days. where I have been using pants and just a t-shirt. In morning he is fairly ok at telling me but in the afternoon he sometimes does not tell and I try to get him to sit on the potty every so often. I think he is doing ok most days he has 9 accidents but 10 hits in the potty as well. Do I continue and use the pants and pull ups so that I can go out and about or go back to using nappies. I think he is ok but not sure if I go back to nappies will he not let me know. He goes to nursery 3 days in the week when I was at work and they have to walk up to the toilet area for the potty so he is not that successful there. Please give me your advice as my daughter was toilet trained within 3 days - so easy.
• I've got 2 boys and a girl. Personally I would say if he is going 19 times in a day, then he has no control to hold yet, and the fact that half the time he is using the potty is just random. Not sure when he wakes and goes to bed, but on those figures he is going 2-3 times an hour whilst he is awake, whereas a child who is ready to potty train should be able to stay dry for 1-2 hours at a time.
