A question about : Picanova free canvas

Official MoneySavingExpert insert, 4.20pm Wed 12 Mar: Picanova experienced technical problems with this code this morning, which meant some were able to get a canvas completely free, instead of paying Ј15 (see the Ј63 canvas for Ј15 deal).

This was an error and while Picanova has confirmed you WON'T be charged, your order will be cancelled. Picanova plans to send emails to all those affected within the next hour.

Just been told that if you order a canvas on Picanova.co.uk and enter 'saveoncanvas' at the checkout, it is completely 100% free! Even the delivery charge is taken off and you don't have to give any payment details. I was told there is only 10,000 they are giving away free but can't find any information about this online anywhere. It does work though!

Best answers:

  • Thanks OP, I can confirm that I have just successfully ordered a 20x30 canvas, worth Ј35.39 for free, plus free postage, with no need to put in any card details.
    Top find - thank you
  • Just done it - thank you! Excellent deal.....

  • Codes aren't permitted on the Grabbit board and the thread has been moved to the correct board. If in doubt please read the forum rule. If you have any questions about this policy please email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.
  • Wow amazing deal OP.
    Thanks for sharing.
Thought it seemed too good to be true.
Not surprised they wont honour this glitch
  • Thanks for this. Ordered one for me and one for my mum.
  • Says my file type is invalid, it's a 3.89mb jpg ??? Anyone else have probs?
    Lx
  • Oops sorry I didn't know I couldn't post codes there! Thanks for moving it to the right place.
  • took ages to finally get website to load. now says Coupon code "SAVEONCANVAS" is not valid at checkout??
  • Yep, me neither. Tried both lower case and upper case. It looks like it's a new company as well. Bit worrying though that they advertise a promotion and are unable to uphold it. Oh well!
  • I managed to order at 7am.
The 60x30 print I ordered should have cost Ј50.39. I can see that they would soon run out of their 10,000 prints when they cost that much to begin with.
Not sure if the free offer will be honoured at that price either, it's a lot of money (Artscow skinflint here)!!!
  • Maybe you'll be lucky if you keep trying because the front page has a message "Apologies - We are experiencing technical difficulties. Please Be Patient"
  • I think this offer has 'sold out' as there were only 10,000 free. Not now working.
  • Having seen the amended post at the top, I had a feeling this was too good to be true. Not so much of a 'deal' at Ј15, I see that the only size that corresponds to Ј63 delivered is 60cm by 60cm which being square is also an odd dimension for many prints. Ј63 is a SHOCKING price!
Artscow are currently doing some deals on canvas prints, non stretched but 3x 20"x30" (50cm x 75cm ) for $26.99 delivered (roughly Ј18) or 3x 12"x18" (30cm x 45cm) for $16.99 delivered (roughly Ј11). Code on their Facebook.
You can make your own stretchers from 1"x2" wood, corrugated nails, and a staple gun. It's quite easy to do, and you'll end up with a way better deal!

^^this is absolutely disgusting! i have just recived an email to say that the canvas i ordered will now not be honoured, well im sorry but im not going to let them push me over that easy and have told them ill be getting legal advice. id urge anyone else to do the same. surely they have to honour this, it was their mistake not ours! nowhere on the site did it say they reserve the right to not honour mistakes or withdraw offers
  • just to let those know about an article ive just found regarding legal rights when an online company refuses to honour a sale...
The legally binding contract is complete when a retailer accepts an order. However, acceptance does not necessarily happen at the point of order. Even the confirmation email may not be an acceptance. Some retailers reserve the right to cancel an order up to the point of delivery. It is therefore important to carefully check the retailer's terms and conditions (which must be available on their website) and emails - if a retailer simply acknowledges an order, there may be no contract at that point.
IF YOU CHECK YOUR INVOICES (sent to your emails) YOU WILL SEE AT THE BOTTOM IT CLEARLY SAYS "This email is for confirmation of receipt of your order and constitutes the acceptance of a contract of sale."
^this, to me, means that they have signed their legally binding contract and would now have to honour their sales or face been taken to court under the sale of goods act?
  • Much easier just to go and buy somewhere else when another offer appears (and they always do). Their loss, not ours; finding a decent service at a good price comes from good offers and the occasional glitch, then they get your custom in future!
I got a deal from yourdesign.co.uk last year on a printed childrens hoodie; they were selling them at a ridiculous price (I think Ј2.50 printed) but they were bottle green. Never mind, I thought, good deal we can use. Ordered, and they ran out of stock to fulfil the orders. But instead of cancelling those they couldn't fulfil, they offered the deal anyway in different colours. I'm sure they made a huge loss. And what I received was just wonderful, high quality printing and clothing. Knocked spots off the competitor I'd used, with their shoddy tee's and printing that faded after half a dozen washes. Now I won't use anyone else.
A glitch can pay divvies for a wise company
Edit: So, you can buy a 30" x 20" stretched canvas from yourdesign.co.uk who I praise above, for Ј15 and Ј2.95 delivery. The picanova 'offer' shipping from Germany is for a 60cm x 40cm canvas (24" x 16"). That's no offer!
  • Dear Customer,
my name is Phil Norris and I am responsible for Business Development at Picanova. This morning unfortunately my team and I made an error on the promotional page of picanova.co.uk. We currently run an exclusive deal with Moneysavingexpert.com for a 60 x 40 cm canvas print for Ј14.99.
    Here's the deal: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/free-photo-prints
Because the deal is restricted to a 60 x 40 cm canvas print, we cannot process any other sizes. Unfortunately the text on the Picanova site suggested otherwise; of course I personally apologise to you as I take full responsibility.
The deal is still live here with the same code: SAVEONCANVAS
    This entitles you to a 60 x 40 cm canvas print for Ј14.99 - 72% discount.
Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience.
    Kind regards,
    Phil Norris
    Your Picanova.co.uk Team
