A question about : Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights

I was at the event last night which was cancelled shortly after the interval. I am struggling with this one as the event was to raise money for charity. Do you think I am entitled to a refund?

  OP, if they do offer refunds, do the right thing and give it to charity yourself.

• I would have thought that Peter Kay and some of the cast would have at least done an impromptu performance after he was taken to hospital.

  I paid Ј67 each for 2 tickets!
  Watched half a show, told to go home.
  If the actor wants to stuff his face constantly with saturated fats and pints, tough!
  If the actors were that bothered about the collapse, they wouldn't have continued the schedule.
  So yes, i'm going all out to get a refund!
  Ј134 for two tickets is a daft amount and no, i won't be handing it over to charity. I pay enough in tax as it is!
  An the fact there's nothing on any website about a rearranged date or a refund is a joke!
  It's disgusting seeing everyone else going to watch the shows an having a great time an we get sent home.

  Am sure if any of you whining tossers got ill on the day an couldn't make it, you'd be straight on the phone asking for a refund!

• There is also a point at which the event insurance covers the cost of a rescheduled show/refunds in the event of a mid-event stoppage. I was at the Meatloaf concert when he collapsed with a heart attack and had to have open heart surgery that night - we were two minutes over the break point, but his team essentially told the insurers that the show would be rescheduled. And it was fab.
  Check the terms and conditions, and check with your ticket issuers regarding the alternative dates.
  By the way, if you get sick and are unable to attend an event, you are bound by the cancellation policy and very often are 'entitled' to nothing if the tickets cannot be resold.
  Your attitude does make me wonder where the school holidays are, since you sound like a whining teenager trying to get a rise out of people.

  They paid for a show and that show was not completed.
  I personally would not donate Ј134 to charity so I don't see why people who have paid for something they have not got should have to lose the Ј134 just because the money goes to charity.
  This site should be about consumer rights, not about the morality of whether you have a right to pursue your consumer rights.

  There are people who have travelled from London, Edinburgh and even Anglesey to watch the show.
  Ok, the collapse happened.
  But Sunday 15th Feb @ 2.30pm!
  You can't have a drink as most will have work the next day.
  If people travelled from far away, it's double the petrol costs or double the train fare.
  We should of been given an option of refund or re-attend.
  To be told, go on Sunday 15th Feb or no refund is awful.
  The fact there is another opportunity for people to go, means they'd make their money back anyway.
  And for all those complaining. What type of lifestyle do you's live, to just write off Ј134 like it's nothing?
  Some of us don't live at home rent free with our parents living in a downton abbey type house!
  Taxi's fares, drinks etc on top. It becomes a very expensive night.
  OK > yes, i can't complain about the price if i paid it, but when it gets cancelled half way through, i have every right to complain!
• Sell the tickets for the rescheduled date? Presume demand was high for them in the first place so should get most of your cash back.
• I think the word "entitled" in my original post was a little harsh, what I was trying to get my head round was what would happen. IE Would a refund be offered, a alternative date or just nothing. I am over the moon that an extra show has been put on for us I think it is the best outcome for every one.
