A question about : Pension for Short Term Contractor
I have a potential employer, one I've worked with many times before who have the auto enrolment of the new pension scheme. Question is what if I'm not a permanent member of staff? I might be there a few months and then might be there again in the future. Other times I'll be with other companies.
Is it worth keeping opted in? What happens if I have 2 or more employer pension schemes? Does it go into 2 separate pots or the same pot? I have no clue about pensions.
I can see myself losing track of different pension pots in my working career!
Best answers:
- Assuming the employer contributes, take it. Its free money.
When you move employers, assuming they are both DC schemes just tell your new scheme about your old scheme and they should be able to arrange a transfer
