A question about : Online money making schemes?

Has anyone tried any seemingly dodgy money making schemes online?

The kinda thing you find on ebay.

You know, earn Ј200 a week from home etc...

Best answers:

  • Nope but theres always suckers who dont mind getting peanuts for putting leaflets through the doors under the pretence of "working from home" or slipping letters in envelops for 50p and hour.
  • If you could earn that much money, dont you think everyone would be doing it?
I do earn more than £200 a week from home, but its none of those little hairball schemes and has took 4 years to earn what I do.

    No wonder you've got:
Absolutely complete bonkers over-the-top don't you have homes to go to MoneySaver!
If you want the secrets of those e bay miracles, look at this link (which I put in an earlier thread tonight as well!) which has all the e books to download free.

  • Hi
How ironic to find this forum after just trying to get my money back from a scheme I paid for.
I came across this website earncashfromhome, looked good promised there was no selling or multi level marketing or gambling and for Ј39.99 I would receive 4 ways of making money. So I bought it, as it was expensive I thought this should be better then the ones on ebay for Ј5. Only to my horror it was basically like the ones on ebay and after reading through the 1 manual they actually admit to charging more so that people think it is worthwhile. I have asked for my money back as it is the opposite to what was on the website, no selling no gambling and that is all that it is bar one which is to do surveys online. Now I get told no money back until you have tried it out and in 30 days you are still not satisfied then I can ask for refund. I know that it won't be that easy, they will probably find fault with how one has tried, so I think it is such a scam and will be taking it further to get my money back.

  • Never been tempted by the ones on ebay but stupidly tempted by a letter i got about sending £1 coins to people....
  • As mentioned above, save yourself the expense of buying ebooks on ebay when "floodle" have most of them for free! Some ebooks have got good tips in, especially for things like website optimisation and marketing. But the "get rich quick" schemes are generally rubbish, if they weren't, the seller would be using the tips contained and avoiding too much competition by not telling everyone how to do it!
I would also avoid any network or multi-level marketing, only a few make any money, at the expense of suckers down the line who can't shift the stock they bought.. My brush with people trying to recruit for these schemes is not good, they behave as if they are a member of a cult!
Really, the only earn money from home scheme i have had any luck with is on the "gambling introductory loopholes" forum- matched betting is not gambling, it does take time to get your head around, but it is worth it.
  • Bring up a 2 year old thread? :P
  • I've seen loads of listings claiming buyers will be given details of a discounted supplier of electrical goods or other current high value item. The seller usually turns out to be an agent for The Select or some other dropshipper and they're on commission if you then sign up as an agent. You don't normally get the goods at the cheap rate until the supplier achieves the minimum quota of purchasers and a bulk order can be made.
So I suppose you could make a profit, but its whether you can be bothered to wait for your goods before you can sell them.
  • MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES
Hi, Martin's asked me to post this in these circumstances: I've asked Board Guides to move threads if they'll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com
  • When I was a child my mum and dad allways had a little wooden plack ( spelling ? ) on the wall showing a man sweating profusely ,struggling with a wheelbarrow with the phrase under it " the world owes you a living - but you will have to work hard to collect it ! )
Still remember that after 40 odd years - true in those days and in a sense now as well - unless you have 10 plus kids and can claim a few hundred a week through benefits - why struggle with a wheelbarrow ?
