A question about : Old Visa Problems USA

I applied for a US summer camp back in 2003, sent of the form, initial payment and proof I was at uni but did not continue with the application due to lack of funds.

This year I went to America and was held at immigration for over 2 hours. Apparently I have applied for a visa which was rejected (probably due to lack of information). This will happen to me every time unless I get it removed.

The problem I have is I never applied for this visa, so the summer camp company must have done on my behalf. It was so long ago I have no idea what company it was and if they are still in business. A few that I have rung don't keep records that far back.

So I have no proof of anything and without evidence I cannot get this problem resolved.

I have tried contacting the usa embassy in London but there is no number to speak to someone at all just pre-recordings of how to apply for a visa. Any website I look at says refer to the rejection letter which I cant because I never got one.

Any suggestions?

Best answers:

  • Sorry cant offer any real help, have you tried the contact numbers/email form on the contact us section of their web site, HERE
I wasn't sure if I needed a visa, moral turpitude question and did manage to speak to a real person once, it was a premium rate number though at least Ј1 a min and they didn't really help, just said apply and see.
Did they let you in after the 2 hours?
  • Thank you. Yes I was let. Ive been told they would not refuse me entry but every time I travel I would have to through the same process.
  • One solution is to apply for a visa now - that should get this issue buried.
