A question about : O2 e-tickets

Booked tickets in November for Take That in June. Chose e-tickets.

I have the order confirmation email (which can't be used for entry) which says I'll get a second email with the tickets, no later than 14 days before the event.

First time I've used their e-tickets. Haven't had them yet. Is that normal - do they normally leave it till near the time? (near the 14 days beforehand that's the latest they'll arrive)

If everyone else got their e-ticket email straight after their order confirmation email I'll phone them. title=Smile

Best answers:

  • E-ticket policies seem to vary by venue, promoter and ticket seller.
Some places send them out immediately, but there may be a multitude of reasons for not doing so. For instance:
    - They haven't finalised e-ticket procedures / scanners yet
    - To reduce opportunities for touting
    - To make it harder for people to print and sell multiple copies of their e-tickets.
I wouldn't panic - if it gets to two weeks before with no sign then give Ticketmaster a call. You'll still have plenty of time to get it sorted.
(I'm the last person to buy a Take That ticket by the way, so I have zero experience of this specific group!)
  • Thanks! It's AXS rather than Ticketmaster but I can contact them if need be.
  • I've had lots of etickets for the O2 from AXS and it varies as to when you get them. Monty Python came about 6 months before, others have been a month or so before. I certainly wouldn't worry. Most ticket agencies hold them back as it helps reduce fraud and touting and as they won't replace standing tickets it also helps with accidental loss!
