A question about : Nutri Vitahar scam

Hi. I would like to hear from anyone, who, like me,has fallen for the scam by 'Nutri Vitahar',hair products. I saw an ad on Yahoo for this company, who are marketing products for thinning hair. The offer was a months trial for Ј2.99,and under t&c's,you must cancel within 14 days of receiving the trial offer,or you will be charged Ј94.99 for the next batch.Well surprise, surprise,i didn't receive my Ј2.99 offer, and have now been charged the Ј94.99 alsotitle=Mad. Contacted Halifax,to report this unauthorized transaction, but have heard nothing. Anyone else fallen for this, and if so,what was the outcome?

  • Did you see this in their Terms and Conditions:

  • My wife also fell for this scam.
Yesterday (25th Nov 2014), a package arrived in the post from this outfit and when she arrived home from work at around 6pm, she opened it and read the letter to find that she had been billed the Ј84.99.
Like the OP, she had taken them up on the 14 day trial at Ј2.99 on, I believe, the 10th or 11th of November.
Like the OP, the trial sample never arrived - the package she received yesterday was for the full subscription and she was charged Ј84.99 (on checking the bank statement, this payment came from her account on the 24th November).
Anyway, the letter said something about phoning a number in order to receive an RDA number if you wish to send back the item which, of course, my wife wanted to do but it had to wait until this morning as the lines were closed by the time my wife arrived home from work.
She attempted to ring them from work today but the line was never answered so I tried from home and I managed to get through.
I explained that we wish to return the product for a full refund and that I required an RDA Number.
The "Customer Service" chap said that this was not possible as the 14 day trial period had expired and kept quoting the "terms and conditions of the agreement".
I explained that as we had never received the trial sample for which my wife had paid Ј2.99 then, as far as I was concerned, they had failed to honour their side of those very same terms and conditions.
He said that we should have got in touch with the company sooner in order to let them know that the trial sample had not arrived.
Anyway, I spent a rather infuriating 20 minutes or more on the line with him and it was like talking to a brick wall.
The upshot was that they say that they have cancelled the agreement but as a gesture of goodwill (or somesuch) they would refund 50% of the purchase price and that we can "enjoy the product for half price".
Given the nature of this company, I am more inclined to send the product to a laboratory for poison tests.
I'm also not holding my breath on the refund being sent (he told me it would take 7-30 days to arrive in my wife's account - sufficiently long enough for us to be in the throes of festive celebrations and the whole thing forgotten about).
I cannot stress enough how much I believe that this company should be avoided.
  • I have recently fallen for the vitahar scam. They have also taken 2 "follow up" payments from my bank account! Surprise surprise I can't find any way of contacting them to stop the payments!
Does anyone have any contact details for them?
  • yes it is a scam they give you 14 days from the time you order to get an (rma) to send the vitahar bottle back or they charge you Ј94.98..
but the vitahar bottle of pills all ways arrive after the 14 days so they take the money out of your credit card..
i am in the same boat as you people the vitahar pills arrive today 16 days after the order date, been on my credit card account and the money has been taken out.
got on to the credit card people they assured me i will get my money back but i got to get intouch with vitahar...

told them they was a scam company and its in the hands of the credit card people..

BEWARNED VITARHAR IS A SCAM COMPANY
    cheers steve
  • On top of being caught out with the scam, I've also received an email today trying to get me to sign up to an additional newsletter, it's unclear whether my "card will be billed a very small monthly modest fee of just 29pence" So I need to call them AGAIN on Monday to ensure that this also is not taken. At this rate I think I may have to cancel my cc to stop them trying on any MORE additional scams!
Anyone else who has fallen for this needs to watch out for this one too...
(Starting in 30 days from the date of your order and every 30 days thereafter, a small separate 29p processing fee will be charged per issue (8 monthly issues) billed as “HealthNewsletter” to the same credit card you used for your original purchase of our products.)
  • Hello, can anyone tell me the outcome of what happened as i ordered yesterday I have cancelled my card with the bank but they said this may or may not work!
I spoke to vitahar who told me i cant cancel until i receive the product, however i know this is very unlikely after reading all posts, I was just wondering if anyone got this sorted this out? Thanks
  • HI THERE. I THINK I HAVE Fallen for this scam. I received a bottle of pills and a jar of liquid this week....but I applied for this free trial about two months ago and when nothing turned up I assumed it just hadn't worked as I did it on my phone and never got any conformation.
...But I have since had a new bank card since I ordered this 'free trial'. Does that mean that they cannot charge me now for any reoccurring costs???
Id love some help on this as im not sure how it works. Can they still charge me when all they have is may old card details??????
I havn't tried calling them yet by the sound of things its not going to go well.
  • Hi All I have been scammed with this too im furious I cannot afford to lose Ј190 for nothing ...I have been intouch with my bank and blocked any future payments to iether Nutra or x-proto but sadly thay cannot help me reclaim my money but any future payments are covered so i will get that money Back.
I was given another phone number by the bank to try as the one on the paperwork seems to be constantly on answer phone and annoying music (0808 178 0047). I was also told they apear to be a uk company. This is good it means we are covered by the Consumer contract regulations act 13/6/14
Which states we are covered to a refund if we return said items within 14 days of receiving and we can claim up to 14 days after returning the items ...its a good idea to get proof of posting but no point recording it because if they refuse to sigh it will never get back
this act means they have to refund the postage we paid for them to send it and the cost of the goods
preticked or ticked boxes do not tie us to a contract as they cannot overwrite the regulations and if any of you didnt recieve the items within 30 days of ordering that makes anyagreement null and void
Now i just need to get them to answer the phone.
Aswell as this i have complained about them to watch dog and will be approaching the local Media for assistence .... fingers crossed ...other than that ill get an address and take them to small claims court
Hopefully i will keep my Sanity good luck everyone lets spread the word and stop these con merchants
    Stephanie
  • Hi guys, literally ordered the trials then realised I shouldn't have done that and immediately contacted customer support by email, as phone lines aren't open, trying to get them to not dispatch the products and stop the payments. But i fear they are going to dispatch it anyway and then I'll experience the problems listed above of being charged over Ј90 when it doesn't arrive in 14 days. Will have to wait 2 days until I can phone them. Although.. I haven't currently got Ј90 on my debit card, does that mean they can't charge me? Am I saved?
  • I fell for this yesterday evening (December 16th) after seeing a "report" online about the product's amazing success rate when taken in conjunction with Brivon. I ordered both products, so got scammed twice!
Felt slightly suspicious immediately after I made the order and Googled both products and realised I had been taken for a ride. Got in touch with my credit card company straight away (HSBC), who advised me to cancel my credit card there and then, which I did. They told me that the Ј2.99 x 2 will have left my account, but could not guarantee that Vitahar would not be able to take any more money from me. HSBC advised me to phone and email Vitahar to say I wanted the order cancelled.
I phoned Vitahar immediately and said I wanted to cancel the order but their "representative" said that wasn't possible because the order had already been dispatched - a maximum of 15 minutes after I had placed the order online! I told him that he was lying, that the whole operation was a scam and that I'd cancelled my card, so there was no point in sending me the products. He said sorry it's already been dispatched. As anthem1612 says, it was like talking to a brick wall.
I suppose my question is, now that I have cancelled my card, will Vitahar have any chance of taking the next Ј190 from my account in 14 days when (doubtless) the trial products will not have arrived? And do Vitahar have any legal right to force me to pay that Ј190 because I signed up to the terms and conditions?
  • Well, you can add me to this list of sorry souls that have been had. I am so angry about this. They stole $$ from my bank account. That money was to buy Christmas gifts for my 2 small kids
My situation is identical just about, to anthem1612 and many here. Last week the product came late. I read the letter and tried to stop this auto-ship from happening. I sent email, it got bounced back to me. I had already had a bad feeling so I went to my bank to get a new card and see if they could stop this. Too late. They'd just stolen $240 CDN from me.By the time I got through to the company, they said it was too late and couldn't get a refund. How can a company force people into a membership against their will, and literally steal their money right out from under them and nothing can be done? I am so angry. I don't even want to use these products, goodness knows what's actually inside the bottles of Brivon & Vitahar!!
It's never a good time to be scammed but the holidays make it especially more difficult. I can't believe that this company is allowed to universally wrip people off like this. This is unethical, criminal and they need to be stopped. Oh and another similar company, LifeCell, does the same thing. Don't fall victim to this folks. Avoid these types of scam. The next time I see "Only pay shipping for this Trial Offer" that's the big flashing red warning light. Run with smoke coming off your heels!
