A question about : Now I'm 50 what can I get free or discounts on

There must be some benefits to being 50, cos I still feel like a teenager, what are they?

Best answers:

  • The ones that I know about off hand are cheap travel on National Express (but you have to pay initially for this and renew every year) and Working Tax Credits for over 50's but conditions apply to this.
  • At the moment I have a company car, so don't use coaches and don't you have to have young children at home and be on a low income for working tax credit, my two are adults now.
  • Working Tax Credits over 50 element is:-
    (From Adviceguide, Citizens Advice website
If you are 50 or over, you work 16 hours or more a week and you started work within the last three months, you can get Working Tax Credit if you were getting certain benefits for at least six months before you started work

Pensioners Special, you cheeky git, I don't look like an old granny yet, I look so young I'd have to have the children's menu.
I emailed a couple of photos to my daughter the other day from when I was about 15 and now and I don't look much different.
  • Congrats on the now being the wonderful age of 21 years oops 50 years young.
Now reaching that age, I am sure you look young enough to get yourself a nice young toy boy
I always say to myself your as young as the woman you feel
  • Well, Robbie Williams keeps pestering me, but only in my dreams.
My daughter has turned into my mother and would see off any moneygrabbing toyboys

No you're right, should I stick my head in the gas oven now!

    Noooooo
Noooooo Don't be so daft!!! Gas has just doubled in price!!!!!
Anyway it's really worth waiting to 60 when all sorts of things get to be free!!!
In fact you don't even have to sign for (free) repeat prescriptions would you believe:rolleyes:
