not declared default excuse

A question about : not declared default excuse

I applied for a job. I declared my satisfied default in the interview.

But I didn't on my application form.

They've asked my why I didn't declare it on the application forms.Tbh I rushed the application form so I missed it.

What excuse can I give? Without looking incompetent?

• No sorry I don't
• I can imagine if you declared it prior you would have not been invited to interview.
• It amazes me how banks won't take on anyone who may have had any financial trouble in the past and yet banks make mistakes absolutely ALL the time. They even have to be bailed out by the tax payer- if that isn't a default I don't know what is!
