A question about : How long does a 'default' account sty on my credit record?
I've just finished paying off an old HSBC overdraft via Marlin Finance. This showed on my credit record as default, even though I was paying it back monthly via HSBC themselves and I always disputed the 'default'.
Anyway, when does the record disappear from my file? Can I request it to be taken off immediately? It's messing up my rating big-time as I used to be a 4/5 on Noddle. With this 'default' I'm a 1/5
I've never been late or missed a payment ever with anything else. So annoying! Thanks for any advice
Best answers:
- Info here --> How long do accounts/defaults remain on your credit file?
But basically they stay for 6 years from the original default date. - I have the same problem.
Got a default from a payday loan.
However I emailed them asking for an extension so I could repay at a later date.
Can this be removed? - Its a correct representation of how you ran your account.
