A question about : exchange rates
Hi
can anyone tell me where travel exchanges buy their money from so that they can make a profit and still give better rates than banks ..thx..puzzled
Best answers:
- I don't know from where they buy but they don't give you the rate published. Try MoneyCorp exchange rate at MSE comparison site to buy USD (Same day) and try to book to collect using the link. They ask you to come back in 3 days or offer a low rate.
- They buy from Brokers in the City who deal in Јmillions.
Banks have large overheads and make larger profits. - Thx for the replies guys
- haven't purchased euro's on line before, any tips who to go to? best rate etc
- Martin is often recommending Mr A's for travel money. They offer competitive rates and if you order over Ј500 you get free delivery. They also have click and collect so you can choose a local store.
A lot of bureaux get their currency from main, central suppliers. I know of a couple of these. On average retailers try to make a profit of 3%.
Hope that helps.
