A question about : MORTGAGE INTEREST PAYMENTS
Had to give up work to look after my disabled son aged 21 whilst he undergoes surgery and post op therapy. Explained to Mortgage Company who offered to allow me to not to pay any interest or capital back for 3 months. I offered to pay the interest which I did. DWP are now contributing towards interest as well but the Mortgage company are insisting that I pay all the mortgage now the 3 months have expired. I only receive Carer's Allowance and Ј12 per Income Support plus a Pension of Ј25 in all Ј79 a week. My mortgage is Ј707 monthly. Help - they are saying that they will send in a Debt Collector for which I have to pay Ј65. Is this the norm.

Try copying this question onto the Mortgage board as you may get more response to do with mortgages (if you haven't already!)
P.S. If I'm reading your post right I wonder if you've checked what benefits you are entitled to recently?
You could call in to your Citizens Advice Bureau to check. They might also help negotiate with your mortgage lender.
