A question about : February Challenge

Would any comper be willing to do an experiment with me?

I have read several times that we get on average 1 win for every 4000 comps we enter.

There are 25 days left in February so to enter 4000 comps I will need to enter 160 per day.

Anyone wanna do this with me see how it works out?

27 wins so far this month title=Thanks,
We are averaging 1 win in every 1777 comps entered title=Wink

Best answers:

  • as long as i get the pick of the best prizes
    i'm not sure there are 160 a day that interest me but i know a couple that do that amount and more
  • Sadly I don't have the time but I'd love to see the results if others do join up!
  • You could do 160 click to wins in less than an hour it is still 160 comps entered
  • [QUOTE=sax11;67632328]as long as i get the pick of the best prizes
    Remember to look for comps with pens
  • I'm starting comping again so I'm up for giving it a try. I make it 25 days left of February from tomorrow onwards, so will make a start tomorrow (although I have entered some comps today, but haven't been counting).
    I've just downloaded a clicker app on my phone to keep track each day.
    Good luck!!
  • i have a glut of pens and i dont do click to wins - sure i can find enough though - would be interesting to see the results
  • Post and let us know how many camps you have entered at the end of your comping day pls
  • I read in a facebook group yesterday someone saying they won 31 prizes in January, clearly they are spending all day entering competitions or are defying the odds by a big margin.
  • Facebook is my weakest place for comping, I win most on Twitter but everyone is different.
    31 wins in a month....hmmm not sure about that
    I am trying for 1 win from 4000 comps in February
  • i've only really done about 50 comps in the past 2 weeks but ive won twice so i'm not going to ruin 7950 entries - i think ive exceeded my quota
  • I wouldnt mind seeing the results, it also might act as a deterrent from all the usual "how many comps until i win.." and "I've entered loads of comps today why havent i won." threads.
    Count me in
  • I'm limited in time available to comp as I work BUT I'm happy to try and keep a count and add those figures to the pot.
    Quick clarification - when entering dailies/mags are we counting the number of times we enter them OR just as one comp? I'm hoping it's the first as these take a big chunk out of my comping day. I reckon with my bookmarks I have 50+ easily that I enter a day.
    Cheers ears - I love this kinda thing
  • It all depends what you enter - If you stick to high value cash/vouchers, single prize, easy to enter, posted on this forum competitions then 4,000 entries for each win is likely to be a massive underestimate of the average number required for each win.
    Low value, specialist interest, multiple prizes, effort, not on the forum and local collect prizes should give a much better strike rate, probably in the very low hundreds. Even some easy entry ones can have reasonable odds - the daily 4 AA batteries come in around 400 to 1 and some of the "beauty" ones have had loads of prizes so even if there were 100,000 entries in a 2 hour slot with 200 prizes that's only 500 to 1 - (a recent TW comp with 5 prizes had odds around 70 to 1)
    For the number of wins I have if it took me 4,000 a win I would need to be entering over 840 a day and that does not happen.
  • I've entered about 5000 comps since I started 3 weeks ago and have yet to win anything, but then a good percentage of those haven't finished yet. If I win a multiple entry draw it'll be impossible to tell whether the winning entry was from a Jan or Feb entry and some single entry comps that have been over multiple weeks in Jan/Feb I won't know when I entered (although I suppose my "thanks" would reveal that), so it'll be hard to quantify. However, I'll probably continue at a rate of approx. 1000 entries a week, so it'll be interesting to see if I've won anything by the end of Feb or even March (for the "roll over" as it were).
    I agree with the other posters though, it very much depends on the competitions you enter. It would be interesting if a few people did exactly the same comps for a month (and remembered to discount any prizes received from previous comps entered outside the agreed ones) to see how many, if any, wins there were (not suggesting anyone actually bothers to do this!).
  • Each day I do the following
    All of the new twitter comps of the day on comps board, all Twitter comps on sort date board and 12 pages of todays comps.
    All new on weeklies, dailies, raffles and mags, ITV, TAB and RT to Wins on Twitter
    I do all the above plus I do the following each day
    Mon = All weeklies
    Tues = All raffle and Dailies
    Weds = C2W's
    Thur = Daily Mags
    Fri/Sat/Sun = At least 10 pages from the comps boards
    That is just the way I work it, so it is a good mixture of everything
    (When I say all, I don't mean all, I mean all the ones I want to enter that would be of interest to my family or me )
