A question about : Holiday in Cornwall in June-ideas please

Me and OH (both 40's) would like ideas of where to stay - Cornwall is so beautiful but there are soooo many places to stay I can't begin to choose. It is for 1 week.
I have stayed in the St Ives/Hayle area and although OH would like it for 1 day he would then be bored.
We both prefer to stay in a B&B in the centre of things so we can walk around and explore pubs and restaurants. We will be taking the car so can explore the general area that way also. As there are so many places I thought maybe a 2 centre holiday - 1 north and 1 south. We also like railways .
Any ideas - we would be so grateful thanks

• We honeymooned in Camelford (a long time ago!) and that has the advantage of being able to get to both north and south coasts of that 'bit' of Cornwall. Worth a look?
• falmouth is good cos you can get boats to various other places, st mawes, truro and up to trellisik gardens and some of the smaller villages. makes journeys to other places more interesting

  theres the docks too which are good for a look round and its a good town for shopping and theres beaches and gardens and a castle. loads to do, ive been going a few years and havent covered everything yet

• I would suggest somewhere near Wadebridge, further north than St Ives. You would be at the centre of the fantastic Camel trail where you can walk or cycle along the estuary to Padstow or up to Bodmin. On the way to Bodmin there is a vineyard you can stop and visit.
  There is also many beautiful beaches and coastline in the area. It is within reasonable driving distance of Port Isaac (where Doc Martin is filmed), Tintagel, Boscastle & my favourite place Trebarwith Strand. A beautiful beach with a good pub that has an amazing view.

• Might want to bear in mind if you decide on Wadebridge that it's show week first week of June (Royal Cornwall) 5th/6th&7th everybody goes show so a lot of the independent shops in the nearby town's will be closed for those few days and traffic goes nowhere fast. you have the steam railway at Bodmin but it's not somewhere you would want to stay your pushed to find a decent meal there in the evenings let alone anything else to do, St Austell end you have the Eden project, the tall ships at Charlestown, Fowey& mevagissey are lovely places to wonder around, Lostwithiel has some lovely little shops, everything is commutable round Cornwall with ease really.
• How about Porthleven on the South Coast? Near to Helston, The Lizard, St. Ives (on the north coast is a short drive), Landsend, Sennen, Mousehole, The Minack Theatre, Penzance, St. Micheals Mount, Coverack, Cadgewith.
  Porthleven is one of my most fav places to stay. A very pretty village with a harbour, a clock tower right by the sea, a beautiful sandy beach, pubs, shops and plenty of accommodation.

• Truro? There's loads of lovely pubs and restaurants, including quite a lot that have opened quite recently. There's a few b and bs and hotels, although I'm not sure about parking at the b and bs. You could explore either by car or train to Falmouth and st Ives. It's quite central for visiting other places too, depending what sort of holiday you want (beaches, towns, etc)
• try and get to isles of Scilly...
• I absolutely adore Polperro & Looe, well worth a visit
