A question about : Noddle Credit report not showing mortgage

Hi,

Sorry if this is in the wrong place - wasn't sure where to put it as it's not strictly a mortgage question.

I have just checked my free noddle credit report and my mortgage isn't showing on there...would that be because certain companies only report to certain CRA's?

I only got my noddle report out of interest with it being free and everything else is as it should be. Last time I got my Experian and Equifax ones was when we took the mortgage 18mths ago and I don't really want to pay for theirs now when I'm not looking at taking credit. Everything on those at that time were fine as well, but obviously the mortgage wasn't on those because it was before it was taken out.

Sorry for waffling - just come back off hols and am tired! Should I be concerned or is it normal for only certain reports to show certain things?

Thanks in advance!

Best answers:

  • Noddle is CallCredit, and most but not all banks and lenders give data to CallCredit. One of my credit cards does not show on CallCredit, nor do any of my mobile phone accounts whereas they do on Experian and Equifax.
Frankly I would not be worried, because virtually every lender or other company will use CallCredit as a second option at best. The only real exception, as far as I'm aware, is Skipton Building Society, simply because they owned CallCredit.
  • That's why I cannot get my head around why people big up this noddle credit report when no lenders even use the damn thing.
  • Thanks for replying!
I didn't think it would be too much to worry about, just wanted to make sure! As I said, have no intention of applying for credit but when the time comes for shopping around for mortgage deals at the end of our fixed rate, I'll check Experian and Equifax then, if needed.
    Thanks again!
  • Which lender is the mortgage with?
  • All my creditors are on Noddle, used checkmyfile before and not all were showing - some on callcredit, some on equifax, none on experian.
  • Thanks folks for the info.
My cc is on there as is my bank acc with Halifax and also my phone with Orange. That's all I have anyway apart from the mortgage. I'll just take it that Newcastle don't report to noddle.
There were also some searches showing for insurance quotes for last week which I never instigated. When I read the info about this it said it wouldn't affect things in any way. I was a bit concerned though because I had not searched for any insurance but wondered if it might be something that was automatic because I'd previously used comparison sites at this time of year for old insurance - will they automatically re-search my files?
  • The only way to know of all the potential things that could show up on a credit search performed by a potential lender is to get copies of your file from all 3 agencies.
Its true that callcredit/noddle is still the smallest of the 3 agencies (as in the least amount of credit information across the whole population) but it is growing in size, more lenders are starting to search and report to it.
