A question about : no flights included "holidays"

was wondering if these should be posted as the cost of the flight will exceed the spending limit?

• Yes, as the competition is not costing anything to enter - you just need to spend money if you win to use it
  You could say the same thing about winning a games console - you need to spend money buying games to play on it
• I won one of these once. Just having to pay flights and spending money brought it into the affordable range for me. It's not a destinations would have considered otherwise. Or more accurately, it prompted me to have a second holiday I wouldn't have managed otherwise.

• I see your points but the number of times i've got my hopes up I've seem that no flights included - especially long haul
• They should still be posted on here - it's up to each of us to read the comp and decide whether to enter or not.
  I'd happily pay for flights (or try and win some!!) if it was to a place I'd really love to go to.
• Yes, I think they should be included. They do not cost anything to enter. The only thing that would be slightly iffy is if it doesn't state in T&C's that flights are not included and then if you win, they turn round and say "oh the flights are not included." But providing it is there in T&C's, I don't see a problem with it.
  I, personally, tend to avoid those comps as I couldn't afford to pay for the flights at the moment.
• Yes, they should be posted, no outlay to enter and can save people money on the cost of taking a holiday should they win. There are often holiday prizes where some level of spend is needed, for example lift passes for skiing often cost more than a cheap flight
• I don't think they could be classed as purchase necessary comps, as you don't actually have to fork out any money in order to enter them. However I do agree that they are a bit of a pain, I would certainly never enter one myself as I could only imagine getting a wem / wtc saying "you've won a holiday!" only to find out I'd have to fork out Ј100s in flight fares. I just steer clear of anything that says "win a xxx night STAY in....." wherever.
• Some posters do put in the title something like "excludes flights", "excludes travel", etc
• Read the comp terms and conditions if unsure
