A question about : no credit agreement but on record ?????

Hi

I've applied for a job and they did a Credit search on me.

It came up with ' 1 public utility account!' 9 months ago which I was in arrears with them for700 pounds. But they don't have further information on this. So they have requested it of me.

Yes I was in arrears with EON but this because I was in dispute with the balance and went to the ombudsman. I know I can back this information with the company I applied a job with. So it isn't a problem.

But my question is. Could EON put this on my record even though I don't have a credit agreement with them I.e no direct debit set up with them.

Also why can't the employers see any further info about the utility company? As in name and reason for it being on my record??

Thirdly, why doesn't noddle show this info??

Best answers:

  • Eon T&Cs state that:
    Quote:
  • You admit yourself you were in arrears with them, so, the sort answer is, yes they can.
  • What sort of job was this? Working in a bank or something similar?
