new shed required

A question about : new shed required

i'm looking for a new shed and i am looking for a good price. any ideas. i have looked at ebay but i will have to travel and dismantle, which is not an option.

• Try www.gardenbuildingsdirect.co.uk they seem to have good offers and include free delivery
• I've just ordered a shed from J D Marshalls, it's slightly over 6 x 4 and is metal, with double doors. It's cost me Ј160 and that is including delivery.
• B & Q have their 6 x 4 shed back in at Ј95, which is okay if you have some way of getting it home but if you have to add on Ј20 for delivery too it's not so much of a bargain.
  The Trademaster I ordered from Marshalls is the same price as the one on GardenBuildingsDirect but it's galvanised steel and I won't have to mess about with wood preserver etc and will probably last for years longer than a wooden one.
• I don't know anything about the Wickes shed mentioned above, but the B&Q one has overlap cladding, whereas the gardenbuildingsdirect one is tongue and groove. Overlap is usually cheaper than T&G.

• I bought my shed from gardenbulidingsdirect. The driver told me that the sheds were the same as those from Argos, and in fact Argos were cheaper!

• Where do you live, there are some great offers on sheds in the liverpool area, usually on the back page of the liverpool echo 6x4,you get a light and alarm its also treated and erected for Ј120 if i remember rightly
• Its not that hard to put up a shed. Even my OH managed it. All you need is hammer and a enough common sense to put the felt on the right way (that's where my OH was sadly lacking).
  We bought one from one of the usual DIY places, but we didn't go for the smallest or cheapest option...as they looked a bit naff.
• I read all this thread and looked at the site recommended garden buildings direct, found a shed i liked and wanted to know when the sale ends. I couldn't see anything on their site, so I rang the freephone number at 6pm, its nearly 6.30pm and i'm still awaiting for "the next available agent".
  I'm not impressed, please tell me its just a busy time and not a reflection of their usual sales.
  If i've not heard in another 5 mins, i'm hanging up.

• Out of interest I rang back and got a recorded message. The opening times are 8.30 - 6pm. I must have dialled just before 6pm and got "held" when they closed the lines.
  !!!!!! and very annoying to have sat on the phone for 35 mins for nothing.
• I bought a 6'x4' for Ј90 from focus! ive also been told about a 8'x6' for Ј100 at no frills?? I have no idea who they are tho....

  Thanks to the suggestions of people on this forum, a couple of weeks ago I bought a 6x4 shed from Focus for Ј85! Well, Ј80 actually! If you register on the website you get a Ј5 voucher for a Ј50 spend. Delivery is not too bad either....

  PS: I couldn't find the sheds online - it was an instore price.
• Just a tip for sheds - if you can do so, make sure that the roof and floor is not made of chipboard, it will disintegrate when wet. Also, you will have some minor DIY such as trimming etc.
• I know this will be well out of date but there is a great site www.freecycle.org that has groups all around the globe. Log on and see if there is one in your vacinity - could be that you'd get a shed for free: even if you have to pay for transport it will be cheaper than new, surely?
