A question about : my un used tax allowance
can anyone advise me on the following
I am 59 and no longer working and my husband is 60 and is still working full time. I do not receive any income whatsoever so wanted to know if there is any way I can let my husbaqnd use my 10k tax free allowance ??? legally ofcourse
Best answers:
- For next year you can transfer Ј1060 of your Ј10,600 personal allowance to your husband.
All interest which suffers tax should be in your name and tax can be avoided.
You could also put Ј2880 into a pension and HMRC will give you Ј720 as a gift, negative taxation! - Do you have a sipp? Even with no income you should be able to claim some tax relief. If you ask on the pension board they can explain the details, as free money is always good.
