A question about : my parents house and my bankruptcy
hi all,
i am looking for some advice, i am advised to go bankrupt as i have no assets, i currently rent a house. the only asset i am likely to have is my parents house (who are both alive and well by the way) i thought it might be best to get my father to change the will so that if anything happened god forbid during my time of bankruptcy. i would not inherit the house and so loose half my share with my sister. i told him to leave everything to my sister, who i trust to let me live in the house as she already has hers with her family.
am i breaking the law by asking my father to do this, and if the will was changed back (to include me) after the bankruptcy period would i still be liable
any advice welcome
Best answers:
- Your parents are free to change their will as they please and they/you would not be breaking any law in doing so. If they decided to change it back again after you are discharged it would not be claimable.
