A question about : Multiple critical illness policies, can I claim on all?

I have three critical illness policies, all with different companies and I was told at the time I took them out that I was not limited to just one. I've just been diagnosed with a critical illness and want to know if I can indeed claim on all three? I'm obviously worried to go down that route if it is going to cause me any problems or cause me to have my claims refused. Can anyone please advise? Thanks.

Best answers:

  • You can.
Ensure your condition matches the requirements of each policy, such as severity, duration if applicable.
  • Agree you can claim on all 3 - However did you do all 3 at the same time? A question on the application form will ask 'Are you applying to any other companies for similar cover' if you took them out at the same time and answered NO and then took out all 3 at same time then you may have a issue with Non Disclosure - As if you had declared this is a Yes then perhaps the insurer may have gone for further medical evidence.
However if all 3 were taken out over a period of time - 1 to 3 years then not a problem - if condition meets the ci definition then it should pay out on all 3
  • Thank you for your responses, these are very helpful and have put my mind at rest.
