A question about : Moving House Do I Cancel Or Continue

I'm due to be moving shortly & am under the impression I'm better off cancelling my TV with Sky & internet with BT then signing up as a new customer once I've moved?
I'm out of contract with both suppliers but am perfectly happy with both, well maybe not so quite with Sky but that's just down to poor TV in general & debatable if it's worth it or not.

What's the general oppinion, cancel & start a new or inform my suppliers & move?

Best answers:

  • If your out of your minimum term with both SKY and BT then cancelling and rejoining as a new customer when you move will mean you can take advantage of the new customer deals both companies offer including vouchers/cashback offers via quidco/topcashback etc.
BT will accept you as a new customer if you cancel and rejoin but it may be more difficult to do this with SKY as they usually require you to have left for over 12 months before taking new customer deals but i have done this with SKY at the same address with no issues so worth a go.
BT will charge you Ј30 to cancel the broadband even if you are out of your minimum term but this can be offset by the cashback offers.
Both SKY and BT would rather keep you so they may offer you a better deal to stay with them.
Call and ask them what deals they can offer you to stay with them and compare it to the new customer offers.
