mortgage broker fees

A question about : mortgage broker fees

hi

how much does a mortgage broker charge to come to your house on average? (looking to remortgage) or do most of them make there money from commision?

Is there anything i should look out for if i make an appoinment to see one?

• Many don't charge- if they are local, as earn from commissions
  Check registered with MCCB
  Check if any lender panel is wide enough
  Personal referral is a good bet
• Quite a lot charge and that is disgusting in my view. However, a signficant number will not charge to visit you or to arrange the mortgage so shop round.
• you could use a telephone broker
  Seriously, in this day and age you shouldn't really be paying a brokers fee unless you have a very specific reason to do so

  (btw Mortgageman - I'm on Hols from middle of next week, !whilst the mortgage boards are less busy than they used to be , and Lisyloo, !diggingout, !DD and others !seem to keep on top of things anyway - you did mention you might want to pop in a bit more often whilst I was away)

  If you click on MortgageMan's, they have a FREE phone number. But his cough is so bad I don't know whether he will be able to talk to you.
