A question about : Morrisons Bonus

As a pensioner I am fed up of Morrisons targeting families with their special offers.

I, as probably many others, if there are only 2 of us in the household I find it difficult to spend Ј40 each and every week in one go. I like my bread and veg fresh. If I do a big shop with soap powder, toilet rolls etc etc, I really don't need to buy them again for a few weeks.

Come on Morrisons, give us golden oldies a break now and again.

Best answers:

  • Now they have match and more I don't know why they can't do Ј40 a week but with no requirement for it to be in one transaction. Or do spend Ј20 a week for 6 weeks and get Ј10 back as another option for those who spend less.
  • What about Marks and Spencer, Tesco, Sainsbury, Waitrose...?
Why should Morrison's act differently and cater for you? No-one else does. At least there are two in your household so are in a far better position than those with only one.
The Co-operative currently offer Ј1 coupons off Ј5 purchases to card holders.
  • (Ј40 is not a terribly large shop for two. Ј15 for meat and fish, Ј10 for fruit and vegetables, Ј5 for dairy, Ј6 for a bottle of wine. That leaves less than Ј10 for 'unnecessary' and other bit and pieces.)
  • There are only two of us in our household as well, but we spend a helluvalot more than Ј40 a week on food, toiletries, cleaning materials, washing powder, wine etc.
How much do you spend on your "big shop"? When Morrison's are doing their Ј40 offer, I make sure I spend just over Ј40 and no more. This maximises the percentage discount available. And if I'm short of the Ј40, I can usually find long life goods on offer that are worth stocking up on. I tend to buy things like shampoo and shower gel once a year when there is a good offer on. (I appreciate now everyone has the storage to do this).
  • could you still continue to use the card as you would your old fuel card? I know it's not as many points as before but still better than nothing as I presume you already used the fuel card.
  • [QUOTE=Nada666;66924048]I hardly think spending Ј40 of their Ј226.50 on some decent grub is going to leave them in penury. Or do you think they should be forcing a hospital food diet on themselves?[/
    Ah, the arrogance of youth.
  • Most oldies claim they can't spend Ј40 because they are old and living on their own and are a pensioner, yet they go shopping same time everyday and probably spend Ј40 in a week in total.
  • Recently I used my fuel card as usual. It was snatched away and the new card substituted. I do not wish to register this new card and have my shopping habits tracked so will not be availing myself of their new initiative I'm afraid.
