A question about : Monster Mugs

2 STOKES HALL AVENUE
LEYLAND
UNITED KINGDOM
PR25 3FA

Has anyone out there ever ordered mugs from Monster Mugs in Stokes Hall Avenue, Leyland? This is just a warning: Beware! I ordered 250 promotional mugs; they asked for full payment before dispatch. They then agreed we could just pay 70%. We never received the mugs. We've tried to contact the company but they don't respond.

  • I know where this is. It's a newish housing estate. Someone must be selling from their home. Have you had an invoice? Is it a limited company?
ETA: It is a ltd co, and it is live. Have you tried phoning? How long ago did you order and when were they supposed to be delivered?
  • Our company ordered some mugs from them a couple of years ago. Same thing, payment in advance. The mugs never materialised and they promised they would refund it. We had 6 months of them claiming to have made bank payments and cheques going missing, time after time. Eventually we took them to court and judgment was made against them. Still never got the money refunded and turns out they already had two other judgments against them.

  • I can's believe that they are still allowed to trade as a limited company with at least 2 CCJs entered against them. I [TEXT DELETE BY FORUM TEAM] managed to get them to accept a letter today sent recorded delivery (I think since a good couple of months have elapsed since the incident they were not expecting anything from me! They thought I would let it go but I won't!)
I did try calling them at the end of last year but they are [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] on voicemail and I don't think I'd get too far. I'm going to take the legal route this time..[TEXT DELETE BY FORUM TEAM]
    Thanks for all the replies
  • I've just found out today there are actually 8 CCJs against Monster Mugs. [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM]
  • I am having the same problem with this company! Ordered some printed mugs, issued a proforma invoice which we paid and we have not recieved the goods! Iv been trying to get hold of someone there for weeks! when i do finally get hold of someone they tell me the mugs are being dispatched that evening but they are still yet to arrive! Very dodgy service!
  • I had a call from Carl Pickering the other day. [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] He offered a refund. I said I'd like money to be paid via the internet. He said give me your bank account details which I did. Of course, 3 days later, I'm still waiting for payment. [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM]
  • We are having the same problem. We've paid, and now no one answers the phone or returns our emails. We haven't received any thing that we ordered [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM]. Preparing to take legal action very soon.
  • [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] In March 2009 I placed an order for Ј307.63 worth of mugs [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] and still haven't received either the goods or a refund. I have since spent Ј125 of my own money employing a debt recovery company issuing letters [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] to attend court for questioning, [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM].

    An Apology From MonsterMugs
Further to the forum on MSE it has come to our attention that there are a number of customers who haven't received their orders in good time and concern regards to CCJ's.
We have moved premesis on two occasions and both have left us without internet and phone service for a prolonged period. Each time we were unable to retrieve or send email, phone calls or pick up voicemail messages. This caused an obvious panic with a small number of clients and for this we apologise sincerely. In October - December 2010 our phone service provider encountered a problem providing the redirecting of calls from our advertised number to our destination number and a loss of all messages and calls occurred once again but at the busiest time of year. This had a knock on effect to our envisaged production times and caused a number of clients to have unfullfilled orders at their deadlines or expected delivery dates.
For an internet based firm to be without a connection as I hope you will understand is severely detrimental and we apologise wholeheartedly to anyone who has been affected by this. We have since ceased using the phone services mentioned and you should note the new number of 0151 324 0150 which comes through direct to where we print. Please contact us using this or the link below to our dedicated contact page for this matter to discuss the way forward either by a full refund or by orders finished along with a generous partial refund provided. We take all complaints seriously and thank anyone concerned for their patience.

  • Monster Mugs Complaint
    Thanks for all your responses.
I've already sent him a letter by recorded delivery with the threat of legal action if I don't receive payment.
  • I wouldn't advise posting what could be construed as veiled threats on a public forum
  • Good luck Liz, I hope you are more successful than I have been trying to get my money back from Monster Mugs.
  • Lots of excuses, but still no refund...
  • Would love to know if anyone ever got anything back from Monstermugs. I responded to his post but didn't get any reply, but hardly surprised.
They would have to be more than a little unfortunate to have got so many CCJs against them due to them moving and losing their internet and phones. I can confirm that they certainly didn't settle the CCJ we had against him and it was not disputed, in fact on several occasions he claimed to have sent cheques, which of course never materialised.
Well if nothing else, hopefully anyone else planning to use them will Google them and find this thread before they part with their money.
  • Seems like this company make a habit of not coming up with the goods; the 'Joint Mathematical Council of Great Britain' (say that with a mouthful of beans!) are trying to get a refund from said company owing to the non-appearance of an order.
  • Thanks - did call, but it seems like we need 1000's to call before we get any action.
I was given a Royal Mail tracking number by monster mugs on email (info@monstermugs.co.uk), but if you look up the tracking number its not valid.
What is this country coming too? if people like this can just keep on trading and no consquence?
