  • Hello everyone in MK land!
  • What's the cheapest rate you've found to hire a standard large Transit-sized van?
Is it possible to get under Ј40 for a day's hire? I want to order a sofa from Ikea but am loathe to pay their delivery charge (which is Ј40), and sadly I don't know anyone with a van.
Does anyone out there have a van that they'd be willing to drive for me so I can pick my sofa up? Fuel + a thank you payment would be made, of course ;-)
  • I think $17mma knows someone - I expect she'll be along in a bit...
  • Hi everyone,
Just FYI - The sunday bootsale at 'the bowl' is not on this sunday, so don't get up early, stay in bed!!
I read in the paper last week that they have a saturday bootsale in tattenhoe, can't remember details but I might plod along this week and see if its any good, anyone been to that one?
Another FYI is that you can now buy the unlimited cards at cineworld in milton keynes, you don't have to travel to northampton or bedford to sign up anymore which makes it alot easier for those who haven't signed up yet. As a reminder it costs Ј10.99 per month and you can go to see any film any time as many times as you like for that one monthly fee. To make it worthwhile you have to want to go to the cinema at least 1.5 times per month otherwise you will pay too much. Me and hubbie love it, we see loads of films and sometimes we will buy a ticket early, so no queueing forever, go out for dinner and then sometimes we change our minds about the film and it doesn't matter coz we didn't pay.

  • Just went past the bowl and the reason the boot sale is not on is because there is a Garden Show on this weekend.

  • Looking to do up my bathroom and shower room and looking for a plumber who will do a really good job.
Also looking to redecorate other rooms in the house.
Any recommendations will be gratefully received.
    Thank you
  • Have sent you PM Swattie
  • Thank you - A recommendation always helps
  • Anyone know where the nearest pound shop is to MK?
I need to make up some kiddie party bags to give to the kids coming to our wedding but don't want it to cost me a bomb, so anywhere other than pound shops that sell little things like that would be great.
    Thanks
  • How many of you took part in the free breakfast between 9am and 10am today at IKEA (including free hot drink). Was nice, huh? And there was no small print indicating one per person!
They advertised it outside the store the day before; but it was a bit cheesey that today (on the day) they took down most of the promo ads and many people got to the tills pleasantly surprised to find out their morning food was free while others paid for other things not knowing they could get the english breakfastg free. How many of you noticed that and as revenge exploited the lack of any small print restrictions indicating one meal per customer and went for multiple english breakfasts? To rephrase, how many hash brows can you eat in an hour?
  • Drove by Furzton and was stunned at the enormity of the bootsale there on Saturday morning(s). Cant remember ever seeing so many cars in one place.
  • If anyone is in need of a ladder, Tesco Kingston had loft ladders reduced to £6.99 from £35ish and 4 step stepladders for £4.49 from £17.99 .These were at the end of the DIY aisle, but it was yesterday morning, so they may have all gone now.
