  • dont know about military discounts, but i booked flights the other week for gatwick>sanford in october at £289pp from https://www.broadwayfloridausa.com/
  • My impression with military discounts in travel then you should be advised of companies offering them (I seem to remember some type of military magazine advising which companies offered them). Maybe a quick check with your colleagues might answer the question?
  • I think Disney do discount tickets for militiary families. Last time we were there, at Seaworld, they asked who was military, and they all had to stand up and the audience applauded whilst the national anthem played, both the stars and stripes and our national anthem. It was quite moving really.
    If you go on or
    https://www.allearsnet.com/ and
    https://www.disboards.com/index.php
www.thedibb.co.uk there are miitary threads, certainly on the US one which give details of discounts. May not give you flight discounts though, just ticket and accom details.
  • Thats nice poet, can imagine it being quite moving, think mine would be more embarressed than anything lol.
Thanks for the links, have the discount book so will have to find it and have a look through!
Shame no companies seem to speciailise in it.
  • Marker, all members of UK Armed Forces are entitled to free entry to Sea World, Orlando (and other parks).
I have used this before and it is quick and easy.
Managed to get my family of four in for free which is quite a saving! Just remember to take your Military ID card with you on holiday or you will be refused! I believe you will only be entitled to one free entry per annum though.

  • Hi Marker,
do you know about this website https://www.forcesdiscounts-mod.co.uk/?
You can also send off for a travel brochure called Forces holidays (I think thats the name of it). The HIVE on your camp will give you the details.
    Happy holidays!
  • Seaworld do... https://www.herosalute.com/
    Disney don't.
  • Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

  • Another website offering discounts to Armed Forces members and families is www.forcesdiscount-mod.co.uk
The discounts are also available to members of the Army, Air & Sea cadet Forces and their families.
My daughter has been in the Army Cadets for several years and was advised about this not long after she started.

  • Just thought I'd post this link - some of the discounts are pretty good while others aren't so good because cheaper prices can sometimes be found elsewhere, still worth checking out though. MOD civil servants are eligible for discounts too.

  • We're looking to go to Florida over Christmas.
Thomas Cook offer between 5-8% forces discount, but we found the best deals from Virgin Holidays. If you quote 'MOD' I think you can get up to 10%.....
..... I'll let you know how we get on when we book ours.

  • A lot of people don't know that the motorway services do MOD discounts. Little Chef actually do it also. The staff don't actually know they do it in a lot of places and have to ask - It's painful at times but worth it!
