A question about : Mid contract termination

Hello! Just after a bit of advice if possible. Basically the last month or so my virgin media internet has been completely awful (especially past midnight). It goes super slow, and when i reset the superhub it takes 30 mins to an hour to give me internet access. I have called them and they say their doing some kind of maintenance in my area, and it wont be finished for another TWO MONTHS! Ofcourse he tried rebooting my superhub even though i insisted i've tried this a hundred times, then he changed the wireless channels which i've also tried, and then said im sure it will be fine now.

So im 5 months into a 12 month contract, and i'd like to end it and go to BT Infinity. Is this possible due to the awful service i've been getting from virgin media lately? Surely they cant keep me tied down to the contract even though the service their providing has went drastically down hill and borderline un-usable, especially when i need it after i come home from work late at night?

  • What speeds are you getting compared to what you are paying for?
  • Short answer. No you can't cancel, you've signed a contract. It sounds like they are trying to do the maintenance work overnight (when most people are asleep), and disrupt as few people as possible.
