megabus free tickets

A question about : megabus free tickets

Hi guys,

For a while now, i have been seeing the advertisement on the megabus site regarding the free tickets offer. I travel with megabus every weekend, however i have never come across any of these free tickets. I understand the conditions are that you need to purchase the ticket sometime between Monday and Thursday but even when i do purchase a ticket within that time scale, i never see any free tickets available (and i have experimented, buying tickets at a range of different times). Is there a specific code or page that i need to access to purchase the tickets or do i need to put a specific entry at the front page?

Would be much appreciated. usually travel from bristol to london for the weekends and then london to bristol on the following sunday/monday.

• You don't need to purchase the ticket on Monday-Thursday - you need to travel on those days
  Otherwise nothing special. They do mention that availability can be limited. And book at least a week ahead.
• Ah London to Bristol on Megabus, a journey I used to partake in regularly.
  I remember in previous years that in order to qualify for the free tickets (plus 50p booking fee) you had to travel at odd times like 1pm or 11.30pm and to even get the free tickets you had to book weeks in advance and they sold out very quickly. I remember one time putting 2 in my basket and by the time I had logged in they were gone.
• We have 20,000 free seats available on journeys for travel from 12th January – 12th February 2015
• Free seats only available for travel Monday - Thursday
• There will be no free seats available when booking less than 7 days before travel

Also the free tickets travel is only for between days Mon-Thurs so if you are coming down/going back at the weekends it won't be applicable for you.
It's probably just bad luck you haven't managed to get any. It doesn't help that as soon as Megabus announce it and the offer is posted on various forums, the free tickets are probably snapped up well in advance.
