A question about : Mat leave and pregnancy dates.
My new job has added mat leave benefits, 6 months at 50% pay after the initial 6 weeks at 90. But only after I've been there for 52 weeks before the 15 weeks before my due date (that's howit's worded) so, I started work the second week of November, when can I get pregnant and get the additional payment?
Wow, putting it like that makes me sound really bad!
Best answers:
- I would be very careful to make sure you give yourself some leeway - if you conceive in six months, you should be fine HOWEVER what if the baby came early? A teacher at my school had a baby a month early and had to appeal to get her enhanced mat package as she had been there 11 months not a year - so I would give yourself plenty of time.
- It clearly states before the expected due date as it is written on your matb1 so I don't think I'd have to fight but I'd bear it in mind.
- mid June.
First day of last period would then be beginning of June, giving you a due date early March, count back 15 weeks would take you to late November.
